The 2nd in a series of robberies from James Toney, a fighter who has truly been robbed the most when it comes to how high a level fighter he is and in regards to his status. These robberies against James Toney through out the years are some of the worst and most impactful robberies in the history of any sport. The reason I say that is because the results and ramifications of these injustices really altered and hurt boxing as a whole as well the direction of this specific era of boxing. As far as James Toney goes, he was to great for them to truly ruin him or his legend. His legacy remains intact and he will forever be known as a great fighter, no questions. This negative agenda against James effected more so boxing as a whole, the fights that should have happened didn't happen, there will forever be shadows casted among the other great fighters of this era that ducked James Toney. There ducking James Toney was masked and aided by these robberies of sure James Toney victories. They were an excuse, a scapegoat so it would be acceptable to the unknowing watching it happen ever so blindly that certain fights and events did not and would not happen. For example, a rematch between Toney and Roy Jones never happened, Toney vs The Klitchkos never happened and I could go on and on to name big fights James should have had. This negative agenda and masquerade type deception enabled this to be acceptable to the public and the people who'm were not involved or did not have knowledge or actually acknowledge such an agenda or movement. This was the first of many, the start of the negative agenda against James Toney. The hard pill to swallow, the hardest bullet to take in this is that as great as James has been, as great as his legacy is; he could have had an even greater legend and legacy. The possibility Numerous more world titles, many more defining victories and a possible moniker or designation among the majority as maybe the greatest of all time... All that being said, They tried, they tried there damn hardest, but they would not stop him, this agenda would not succeed, they may have won some battles but James Toney won the war.

James slowed down with the conditioning at this point of his great career. All that sparring with minimal conditioning caused his tempo to slow and led to brain trauma. Once that happens brain stops producing necessary hormones. The fact that he was able to go to heavyweight and make his papers speaks volumes. Probably had to use little vitamin S but still a crazy feat to come from 160 to heavyweight champ on a broken down body/brain.

James Toney vs Montell Griffin 1 = 120-108 for James Toney, you could have given Griffin two rounds if you wanted to be nice. Griffin is extremely tough and a good boxer but as far as Griffin winning that fight ? Not even close ! James Toney won the fight by shut out, every single round. Griffin never took one single round. Like I said, if you really hated Toney and really loved Griffin you could have given Griffin two rounds in the first fight. 120-108 for James Toney. Mr. George Foreman didn't give Griffin one round in the first fight, not even like me as a nice gesture if you had too.

1st = Toney, Excellent poise and defense by Toney, keeping his hands up much better than he did in the first fight. Not very many of Griffin's punches found there way through or hit anything. 2nd = Toney, 2 good punches landed by Griffin in a round Toney controlled.
