I'd agree withSpetah, he kills her because 1) so Stallone wouldn't have to kill a woman and 2) they need him to do something really awful so you'll be rooting for Stallone when he finally kills him in the end.

(Qualen looks at Hal) Qualen: (talks to Travers) Give me the monitor. (Reach his right ✋ hand) Now. (Travers put down the tracking machine and pass it to Qualen; Qualen picks ☝ up the tracker and says "Enter Frequency Code") Qualen: (sighs) What's the code, Travers? Travers: I told you, Qualen: 50,000 possible key code combinations. And 15 second innervals. Qualen: So what's the f**king code?! (Travers pulls out his 🔫 gun, cocks it and pointed at Qualen) (Qualen puts down the tracking device) Qualen: Well, look what Agent Travers found. I guess he's 🏃 running things after all, isn't he? (Travers points the 🔫 gun at Qualen) Qualen: So, what's the plan, Travers? We use the chopper to find the money, right? What a 👍 good idea. (Took off his right glove) But then again...without a pilot...no body even gets off this ⛰ mountain. (Krystel grabs Qualen's left ✋ hand) Krystel: What are you doing, Eric? Qualen: Do you know what real 💘 love is, Krystel? Krystel: 👎 No. Qualen: (whispers to Krystel) Sacrifice. (Qualen shots Krystel 3 times and she's dead) Qualen: Now, I'm the only one that could fly us out of here. We're partners again. (Qualen puts his 🔫 gun in his holster) Now, take your toy...(Qualen pass the tracker to Travers)...and find our 💰 money! (Qualen pulls dead Krystel down the ground) 📻 Radio when you find it. I'm waiting here. (Qualen sits on the chopper 🚁 and takes off his scarf; Travers 🚶 walks on away) (Gabe and Jessie 🚶 walking around the ⛰ mountain) Gabe: All right, the last of that 💰 money is at Crockett River. Jessie: If we can take the Northern Ridge, we can get there first. Gabe: Look, there is no "We." What I'm gonna do is go on to the North 👣 Trail, the Bitker Ladder and you go out to the 🚉 station for help. Jessie: Are you crazy? Gabe: 🎶 Listen, if they find the 💰 money, Hal's dead. Just get back there fast. Jessie: All right. (The 🚁 helicopter is upon the sky in the mountains ⛰ ) Wright: (on 📻 🎙 📡 radio with Control) Roger, Control. Where the hell are those National Guard 💂‍♂️ choppers? Over. Control: (on radio 📻 with Wright) Uh, they had a mechanical, sir. It's being worked on now. Their ETA is one hour. Wright: An hour? Well, you're gonna have to do better than that. Now get a move on. Out. (Gabe walk on the mountain ⛰ 🪨 rocks and climb up on the Bitker Ladder 🪜; Delmar, Travers and Hal walk around the snow ❄ up in the mountain ⛰ and Gabe is right ✅ behind them; Gabe climbed up the Bitker Ladder 🪜 to the top and run 🏃‍♂️ around the snow ❄ and he found the suitcase with the money 💰 in it and put it in his backpack 🎒) (Hal, Travers and Delmar keeps on walking 🚶‍♂️ and they'd just ✋ ⏹ 🚏 🚦 🛑 🚥 stopped) Travers: 👄 (talks to Hal) ✋ ⏹ 🚏 🚦 🛑 🚥 Stop there. (Hal ✋ stops) (Tracker beeping) Travers: 👄 (talks to Delmar) We're close. I got it 🔒 🔐 🔏 locked in. (Catches his breath) Delmar: (catches his breath) So, we're finished with him, yeah? Travers: Yeah, and do it quietly 🤫. Your insane 😳 😍 boss just made enough noise for anyone within 10 miles to hear 👂 us. (Travers takes off his 👋 gloves; talks 👄 to Hal) It's been fun ☺ 🙂 🤪 😜 😊 🙃. (Delmar 🚶‍♂️ walks up to Hal) Hal: 👋 Hey, Delmar, from me to you... you're an 🕳 ⛳ a**hole. Delmar: Yeah? And you're a loudmouth, punk slag...who's about to die. (Delmar pulls his pistol 🔫 out and pointed 👉 👈 👇 at Hal) Hal: Well, maybe. But in a minute, I'll be dead 💀 😭 🤣. And you...will always be an a**hole. So go ahead and shoot 🔫 me. I'm gettin' cold 🥶. (Hal takes off his coat jacket and throw it down the ❄ 🏔 🌨 ☃️ ⛄ 🎿 snow) Hal: 🔫 SHOOT! Delmar: (grabs Hal by his jacket) Who's 🔫 🌠 💫 ☄ shooting? (Delmar headbutts Hal) (Travers 👀 sees a body coming down up the mountain ⛰) Travers: (to himself) I said quietly. (Travers enters a frequency code on his tracking monitor; it's beeping and Travers walks around the snow ❄; he turns left and right, looking around and looks at the monitor) Travers: What the f**k is goin' on? God, this is not right. (Travers walks ahead and the tracking machine continues beeping) F**k! (Catch his breath) (Travers cocks his weapon and see 👀 if it's Gabe; it's a bunny 🐰 🐇 wearing a 👣 🛤 🖲 ⏭ ⏮ tracking device on his back) Travers: G**damn! (Loud) F**K YOU, WALKER! (Travers 🔥 📛 👨‍🚒 🚒 🧯 🎆 fires his weapon) G**DAMN IT! F**K YOU! (Travers ✋ ⏹ 🚏 🚦 🛑 🚥 stops firing 🔥; the bunny 🐰 🐇 is still alive) G**DAMN IT!

Fun fact: In previews of the film, there was a scene where a rabbit was killed by gunfire. This shocked test audiences so much that Stallone paid to have the scene reshot so that the rabbit survived. I would have been shocked as well if that rabbit was killed.
