Fabulous! I have a 6-year-old Pomsky that I have had since he was 6 months old. INCREDIBLY SIMILAR. Mine digs a little less. He digs sometimes, especially to make a hole in the sand on the beach to lay in, but not excessively in the yard. Everything else is identical!!! He's a pain in the ass and I absolutely adore him and he is my best bud! Thanks for the great video. Good to know others out there empathize! By the way, I was telling a friend JUST TODAY how if I leave him alone for long enough he will eat the trash and I was a little embarrassed telling her,, like she would think "what a poorly trained dog at 6 years old that still eats the trash"! I felt so much better seeing this! LOL Thanks again!

My pomsky puppy loves to put her paws in her water dish while she drinks, she also thinks it's fun to pick up the bowl and get water everywhere. She has no fear of walking through muddy puddles. I've had my pomsky, Taka, for a month. So far, i havent noticed him digging or destroying anything but I have 4 other dogs. He plays with them constantly, including my 2 large dogs. Because he wears all 4 of them out everyday, I am thankful he has them and a very large fenced yard to run around in. If it were just me or me and one other dog, his energy might be too much. He's not hyper; hes just super curious and busy, always looking for things to eat or play with.

Must have lucked out. I have had my pomsky for two years, she has never gotten into the garbage, she has never dug a hole. She does shed a ton when she sheds her winter and summer coat but not bad the rest of the year. She will eventually eat her dry dog food but usually just picks at it. But goes crazy when I bring in the canned food. The whine I actually think is kinda funny, she's only does it when she really wants something but hardly ever. We spend more time trying to get her to whine. But she gets into the weirdest positions when she sleeps and will stair constantly until she gets what she wants. Great dog we absolutely love her.

We just bought our first pomsky! She has destroyed every toy! She is about 20 lbs. she is an aggressive chewer. What do you suggest for toys? She loved chewing on things and playing fetch, and playing tug and war.
@JamesandLaurent4 жыл бұрын
For Beedi, it was just a phase. Once she was done with teething at 6-7 months, the chewing went way down. We had to replace a few of her stuffed toys. We gave her lots of bones: real bones, plastic bones, bully sticks. That helped a lot with the chewing. Zach George has tons of videos on puppy training that we have found to be the best on KZbin. Sixty Formula has videos on Husky training, which turn out to be fully relevant for Pomskies. Good luck :).

My pomskies beg to go outside and when you let them outside they want to come back in and then the beg to go outside and then they want to come back in. Rinse. Repeat. This is very annoying as I live in a town home but when he goes to my friend's house he does the same thing and the friend has a large yard. They say that's the most annoying thing. He can't make up his mind whether he wants to be in or out. Perhaps he wants to be outside and expects me to join him each time. In Minnesota. The winter is harsh. I read on alot of dog websites and there are alot of factors, grooming, sociability etc. However, there are two factors which i am confused. Whats the difference between intelligence vs trainability?
@JamesandLaurent3 жыл бұрын
The way we look at it, trainability has to do with intelligence (i.e. smart dogs are easier to train than dumb dogs), but it also has to do with temperament and stubbornness. A lot of Pomskies are very smart, but also very stubborn and self-minded. Therefore, they are not the easiest to train.

And we take her to the dog park every afternoon, where she can play with other dogs. But she still has lots of energy in the evening when we want to relax. This is when she is the most playful. She is almost 3 now and has calmed down a lot vs. when we filmed this video though.

I just adopted what looks like a 2yr old pomsky. She has all of those annoying traits. One thing she does that is irritating is panting. Is this normal? She is the best dog though. Super sweet, smart, and loves to be with other dogs. We feed her raw. Its the only thing she will constantly eat. Although if she starts to get picky if I hand feed her she will eat.
@JamesandLaurent2 жыл бұрын
Pomskies are not made for hot weather. We noticed that Beedi's comfort level starts changing when the weather gets above 70°F. She loves the winter, but pants in the summer. We have to change our schedule to take her on long walks early in the morning before it gets too hot. If yours is picky, we have a video with tricks on how to deal with that.

I have a pomsky named Nala🐶 after watching this video and the funny things they do video, I can totally corroborate on the fact that she’s so damn cute…… yet so damn annoying 😆 she’s picky about her food as well… we give her the wholehearted brand (petcos brand) and they have a variety of flavors as well! She’s so weird though… some days she scarfs it down and other days she’ll just leave it… also depends on whose feeding her I think.. strange.. but I think I’m gonna try the kind you guys use! Nala doesn’t do the 2 leg walking ever but she DOES sit up in that way with her 2 legs and the rest of her body upward. We call it her “bunny sit” cause she looks like a bunny 🐰 haha. THE TRASH!! Omg the trash!!! Nala is the EXACT same as your pup! She digs through the trash like it’s her mission. We have to close our upstairs bathroom door because that’s where she goes. HER favorite things are also tissues, paper, cardboard!! She rips it up and eats it as well and just yesterday I FINALLY made probably the smartest decision of my life…… getting a step- closing trash bin. I’ve had enough!!! Lol She also doesn’t do any of the ‘pomsky screaming’ BUT she has the STRANGEST habit with whining….. she’s 4 and we got her at 8 weeks and since day 1, the only time she will really whine is when she’s around my dad or brother (men) . When my dad leaves the house or comes home, when he walks into the room, when he comes into my room with her there, when he stands up from sitting down, ANYTHING with him or my brother coming or going, she whines. We try so hard to understand what it is?! BC I’ve never seen another pomsky or even dog do this. We don’t know if it’s an excited thing, anxiety thing, happy, sad, scared? But the way she makes it sound, is more that she’s feeling anxiety and maybe a bit scared yet her body language sort of shows excitement too. My dad is with her every single day. He slept with her on the first night we had her. He’s NEVER even raised his voice at her?! So we don’t understand why she seems so petrified around men. My dad shows her so much love and it’s completely baffling. Also, she does tend to be the most annoying when she wants something and won’t give up til she gets it. She’s in my face, she’ll bark everytime I ignore her or turn my head in the opposite direction from her, she just doesn’t stop! She’ll start talking a lot. But the only person who can “hold a conversation” with her is my dad. They go back and forth talking. She’s nonstop responding to him when he talks, but not with me or anyone else 😑 he’ll ask her if she likes chicken, if she’s been good, if she wants to spend time with him, etc. and she just never shuts up! LOL I just wish she didn’t have such high anxiety . She gets anxiety about the vet, baths, Thunder, my dad lol, men, any loud noises (vacuum, blow dryer, nail clippers) when they doorbell rings / knocks, any new person, any other dog, when someone comes or goes, etc) it’s annoying lol bc when she gets anxiety, I get anxiety! Thunder for her is the worst though. She literally can’t sit alone for even a second when it’s thundering, her whole body shakes and she needs to be attached to someone’s hip, her heart races and it sucks seeing that 😞 so yea that’s Nala! I loved your guys videos! Curious if anyone else has seen or experienced the whining with men or a certain person , like mine. Would love to hear about it, if so!

My brothers dog is a pomsky she chews up my hair ties , shoes , scrunchies , socks , napkins and tissues . She also digs a lot . She looks more husky than Pomeranian. She chews up all her toys that are fabric or rope . She has also killed several rabbits . She will go throw trash and chew up papers . Her hair is EVERYWHERE . We can’t keep up with her hair . She also eats her hair if you give it to her . She rarely eats when people are watching , she eats my dogs food which isn’t good for her because my dog is a chihuahua and old .

My pomski Charlie is just like this and I am gonna a show my husband the part about being picky eaters cuz he had been telling me I am just being extra with the way I rotate the flavors for Charlie's food cuz if I don't he will not eat. One thing Charlie does that was not on the list is the pomski punch. If he is not getting what he wants fast enough and the whining is getting him what he wants, he will sit up on his back paws and punch my chair with his front paws.
@JamesandLaurent Жыл бұрын
There are certain behaviors by owners that may encourage their pickiness, but Pomskies are prone to being picky in the first place. We have a whole video about this.
@thedungeon12884 жыл бұрын
Mine will run if she gets out the door. Pretty annoying. The only reason we caught her last time is she ran in a briar bush. She does dig but not as much as many so far. She is not a picky eater.

@JamesandLaurent Жыл бұрын
Every individual dog has its own personality. The owner can get rid of these habits over time, with work. But our Pomsky videos are never based purely on our own dog. We do a lot of research and conduct surveys with dozens of other Pomsky owners before releasing a new video, most of whom have had other breeds before.

Are they only able to breed by artificial insemination? Or is they also mated with the male I guess would be the pomsky?
@JamesandLaurent2 жыл бұрын
Initially, they were bred through artificial insemination, but there are now enough Pomskies that Pomskies get bred among themselves. They are usually referred to as F2 Pomskies (as in 2nd generation).

She loves water and mud holes she makes it is funny and cute but also a mess. She is also revenge if i punishment she will get back at me later the last is her escape from crate. Collars are the worse cannot figure out how but she vetz out and buries it.
