I like the Jerry Springer closing statement "take care of yourself, and each other". Nice unit for something that's nearly 45 years old. I am sure the owner will be stoked once he gets it in his hands. 😎

What a great if somewhat frightening video! The intricate level of detail turns my brain to cat food. It is a lovely example of the top of the range and i certainly appreciate the restoration, replacement & video. Ive been wanting a big Sharp of the era for a long time as i believe the only contender to the TRK of the same period (however there may be a few others) Deep Purple - Made in Japan , has to be the first thing played through this machine.

The effort for restoring a tape deck is enormous, which is literally a useless device for today. But the happiness and satisfaction that comes with it is priceless. Writing this just after restoring an Aiwa TPR-860, over a period of two weeks! Appreciate your videos showing the details of restoration.

Thanks! I did this over about a week I think, and I sort of agree. For being probably the most ubiquitous, long adopted recording format ever made, a huge part of the cassette deck tactile experience is lost if they don't actually work. In my opinion they make lousy ornaments if you can't plug one in and play with it! They deserve better, as do people who still own or procure tapes to this day.
