Gr8 video James; very informative and useful indeed. THANK U. I would have missed out on things like Imodium; good advice to keep. Am doing the EBC in April 2025 and have added some stuff from your list :) Thanks again and God Bless U on all your travels.

Everyone thinking Lukla to base camp is THE trek😂. It used to start in Jiri and you walked in from there. Lukla exists because big expedition groups wanted easier and quicker ways of getting supplies in to the region. Quicker and easier. Lukla has now become a tourist airport for people who want a quick fix taste of Everest base camp. I walked in from Jiri 24 years ago and the trail from Lukla has changed dramatically. Things were changing and not for the better even then. Now it resembles a holiday resort more than the beautiful natural environment it once was😢. Decent video though.

Which month is best to trek EBC either April- May or September- November Thanks for the detailed informations. Really helpful. ❤
@JamesBTravel6 ай бұрын
I can only speak from experience doing it in April-May, but I’ve heard both are just as good, but April-May is when all the mountaineers are there to summit so it’s a bit busier. Thanks for watching 🙏

Really informative video thanks James. Can I just ask, when you talked about the documents someone should carry you mentioned vaccinations, were there vaccine requirements to be able to do the trek?
@JamesBTravel5 ай бұрын
There were a few recommended vaccinations for Nepal (Hep A, Tetanus, Typhoid) but I don’t remember anyone checking anything.

HI Great video. I am heading there later this year, Did you have any vaccines apart from the normal such as Rabies? Also what plug adaptors do we need for the tea houses?
@JamesBTravel5 ай бұрын
We just had the recommended vaccines (Hep A, Tetanus, Typhoid). I believe they had multiple outlets types (C, D and M according to a Google) so safest to bring a universal adaptor (that’s what we did).
@motohobo26 күн бұрын
@Nicolayoung. You should fully do your homework before even thinking of heading there. There are loads of websites giving every aspect of information on this trek.

how much did you spend in total? so i can start saving 😊
@JamesBTravel5 ай бұрын
I think it came to a couple thousand pounds in total, but you could certainly do it cheaper. Find a local trekking company on arrival in Kathmandu, stay in cheaper accommodation, etc.

The trek lasts several days. If I take only 3-4 shirts, they will eventually get sweaty and might start to smell. I don't think there's an opportunity to do laundry there. Does that mean I'll have to wear smelly clothes the whole time?😅
@JamesBTravel3 ай бұрын
If you wear sweat-wicking materials, usually you can get 2-3 days out of a shirt with air-drying overnight before it starts to smell. But yes, on the whole everyone is smelly by the end of it!
@bastilleisgod31683 ай бұрын
@@JamesBTraveleveryone is smelly!? What!!! 😂😭
@Jarooon2 ай бұрын
If your trekking we all just embrace the stink 😝
@motohobo26 күн бұрын
@t0ms0n49. Put it like this,there aren't laundromats along the route😂. Depending on your lodgings showering and washing facilities it's more likely the smell problem will be you rather than your clothing. But there's nothing stopping you from hand washing your clothing. Drying is more the problem. But if you're staying in a teahouse they usually have fires and we used to hang stuff around the fire or around the chimney pipe. Failing that,drape whatever you've washed over the back of your rucksack. Good quality modern trekking clothing dries pretty quickly.
