When I was a child, I had the Matchbox version of the truck at 20:18, also the thumbnail. Around 1969 or so. Thank you.

Thank you for showing these vintage lorries. I’m 66 now and it’s great watching all the different lorries I’ve travelled in with my father as a child. My favourite at that time and still is, is the Commer Maxiload. Just love the sound of the 2 strokes.

Love all the Foden 8 leggers, and that's the first Hoveringham I have ever seen for real. Thx 👍 That 4WD transit from 1983 was a pretty rare thing as well.

An impressive collection of lorries and vans. Some of them reminds me of the Dinky Toys I use to have in my youth in the '50ties.

I was there attending the model truck festival for the first time so didn't get to see all that much of these. I must also say that your camera work is excellent. Far too often I see videos like these where the camera is either wobbling all over the place or zooming in or out at all the wrong moments! Well done.

20:17 I remember seeing loads of the Hoveringham Foden S21's around London in the 1960s, when I use to go with my dad in his truck delivering around the London area

That's cool! So many of those I had as Matchbox, Dinky, and Corgi toy cars when I was a kid in the 60's. The Ford cement truck, and the orange dump truck that said Hoveringham on the side really made me smile.

Great Video, nice to see a Video of Trucks I would see when I was in School & my dad worked afternoons for Bass Charrington driving his 32 ton Artic, I use to go with him after school 4 days a week in the later 70's in his 1974 Scammell Handyman with a RR 220 Engine, Wonder if there is any Bass Units on the Vintage Commercials Circuit, Superb Atkinson at 10.09 with a Sought after Cummins Engine, Sounding just like they use to 10/10.

What a nice parade! Many of the brands are relatively unknown outside the UK in Europe, but it's nice to learn how many brands there existed in the UK, sadly almost all gone now. The old Fodens and Atkinsons are some of the visually more pleasing examples, as do the Foden S20/S21 and Commer TS3 two strokes for the ears. The Bedford TK and the Ford models were the most common British trucks here in the Netherlands. The Volvo F88 is the truck which I remember the most as a haulier at the end of the street where I lived as a child had a large fleet of these, starting from the early chrome grille models. But also the Mack R series I do remember, a local single owner-operator in our neighbourhood had a 4x8 dumper, but with three trailing axles and not the double front steer which was so common in the UK. Not seen in the video but another company nearby then had Fiat 682 N3/N4 tractor units.

I liked the Blue Star Line container, I used to use that long-since defuct British shipping company to bring back meat from South America. The compnay was owned by the Vestey familly, who unsurprisingly also owned Dewhursts the Butcher. One of the ports they loaded at was Fray Bentos,in Uruguay !

@andrewiow6327 That one peaked my interest as soon as I saw it at the start page. When it arrived drove past, stopping at the lights and pulling off again, I was listening carefully to see if I could tell if it had 2-stroke engine. I used to love listening to them winding up when I was a lad in Bellshill, Lanarks., around the age of 10 to 14, from 1959 to '63.
