Top video mate, love the TT content. Currently looking at getting a Mk3 TT but can’t decide between Quattro or just get the 2.0. Obviously the Quattro is amazing but realistically the cars fast enough for me without it. Will I regret not paying abit more to get Quattro? Cheers
@JamesCF104 жыл бұрын
Glad you liked the video 👊🏾 To be honest, the quattro won't make the car noticeably quicker, but it is most definitely a safer choice, both literally and financially as they hold their value better than the FWD. I'm sure whichever option you go with, you'll be a happy man!
@TheNutshaq3 жыл бұрын
If you haven’t already bought the car, get the Quattro. AWD is not only safer because of the traction, more practical if you live somewhere that is snows, but like previously stated they hold their value better. If you don’t care about any of that, get a VW Golf FWD, they’re much cheaper than a TT and built on the same platform with the same engine and drivetrain

I'm looking at a TT/TTS and after this remap I am strongly favouring the cost saving of a TT with a remap. Can I ask how it impacted insurance? I'm sure it will be different for everyone but what kind of % change? great vids mate new sub here!
@JamesCF103 жыл бұрын
Yeah going for a TT with a remap is a bit of a no brainer if it's gonna save you a decent chunk of money. As for insurance, I honestly couldn't even guess, but from what I've been told, it doesn't make a huge difference to your policy

Thinking about getting a car like this. Do you think the S tronic can take the extra power and torque in long term?
@JamesCF103 жыл бұрын
I'm not expert but the TTS is pretty much a remapped TT with stiffer suspension and different alloys. Based on that I'd say that providing you're not hammering the car every single day then it should be fine 👌🏾
@Barmybob2 жыл бұрын
@@JamesCF10 According to Audi - from their TT press launch - The MK3 TTS appears to have differences over the 2.0 TFSI Under the TTS section it states: "Modified aluminium pistons and higher-strength connecting rods with different bearings. The crankcase has been reinforced at the main bearing seats and the main bearing cover. The cylinder head is made of a lightweight aluminium-silica alloy with high strength and temperature resistance. The valve springs and seat rings have been modified for high loads". Further reading shows that the TTS has the CJXG version of the Ea888 Motor, all of the above differences plus different piston cooling jets, different injectors and even a different radiator. So not really just a re-mapped 2.0 TFSI! Still has one cylinder too few for me though :)

Do you need to upgrade any engine parts for the Revo Stage 1? My concern is it wrecking the engine over time. Viezu remap will be 295bhp but Revo claim up to 334bhp but double the price. I had a Stage 1 Viezu remap on my old Mk2.
@JamesCF103 жыл бұрын
A stage 1 tune is literally for a stock car with no upgrades, so it should be fine. If you're concerned about anything it should be heat as this is what kills most cars. Think about getting an upgraded intake of some sort and if you really want to be safe, get a better intercooler (then all you'd need is a sportscat exhaust and you can jump straight to stage 2 👌🏾

Great video! Quick question, i have a Tt mk3 2.0 tfsi manual and just front wheel drive. Do you think that a remap would be just as good because it's only a front wheel drive? Maybe too much power!
@JamesCF10 Жыл бұрын
All quattro TTs are mostly FWD unless they lose grip - so yeah I definitely think it's worth getting the remap on yours!
@richardgp5691 Жыл бұрын
I have the same car 2015 mk3 manual/FWD with a stage one. It is a lot of fun, but getting the power down from launch can be problematic especially in the wet as with all FWDs. I would suggest going for it, but make sure if you do you have really good tyres. Mine came with a set of brand new Churchills (i had never even heard of them - turns out Chinese crap) and they were awful for grip and spin. Less than a week later with Michelin PS5's on its a different beast. I ended up going with a performance specialist for insurance (Adrian Flux here in UK), as despite many comments here, insurance companies generally will not even insure a mapped car or charge an astronomical amount. For example, my i30n had Eibach pro kit, OZ racing wheels, Remus cat back, Carbon fiber spoiler and a Pipercross box filter. My insurance company (Admiral) only bumped my premium by £40 a year for all of this (£390 total), however it was not like for like. So if i totalled that car I would lose £thousands on mods that would not be replaced. Same company wanted over £1450 for the TT and that was just because of the full induction system... i didnt even mention the remap! Adrian Flux insured me fully comp with like for like for around £700. So many people do not tell insurance about mods. It is literally like driving with no insurance.
