@CalvinNoire well first of all most of the military was Royalist (thats why Petain was elected in 1940 because he was the only "republican" general) and also considering the failing of the third republic in winning the first weltkrieg i don't see how it's remnants (who are salty and tired about the revolution and war) would continue the republic they would most likely take the complete opposite of the syndicalist revolution which would be monarchist + the Action Francaise was willing to integrate the colonies/Algeria has integral part of France so they would have had the support of the natives
