Most of them are pretty good but most lack details and are unproportion like how long thomas is and how small bill and Ben's faces are. If they put hornby faces on Backman trains it would be amazing

Honestly I gotta respect ya for using mainly hornby models here, especially Edward! Personally I vastly prefer the Bachman version, but the Bachman Edward SUUUUUUCKS at pulling just about anything. My two examples can barely handle Annie and Clarabel. Plus I had to add weights to all my Bachman Thomas tender engines so their tenders don’t derail all the time. Plus, the Bachman Thomas himself is a model I’ve grown to realize isn’t all that great given that they have reduced the amount of pickups he has with the modern releases. Meaning he runs HORRIBLE on actual layouts, especially my grandfathers 2 decade old layout. I even had to add a block of metal to the front of my James so his front wheels stay on the track. The tender driven hornby thomas engines have always proven to be far more powerful when it comes to pulling so I have to respect that.

Such a wonderful collection man! Loved seeing you show off all the engines and some of the other bits too. That 2000's Diesel will indeed headbutt you off the side of a cruise ship, that one does look evil. Uh... The buffer stop is fine, promise. You're very welcome for letting you borrow the Museum Coaches, and for those extra Season 1 Troublesome Trucks! (For eagle eyed viewers, XLeeHS' old Bachmann Emily is in the scene where my Hornby Percy bashes the buffers with XLeeHS' old Bachmann Mail Van.)

In an alternative universe where Hornby made The Magic Railroad engines, there’s a good chance they would’ve been around for 2000-2003. Also what future Bachmann products are you looking forward to in the future including you getting the rest of the narrow gauge engines?

Alright I might be able to help you with the flying Scotsman maintenance most likely the body shell is held on by little clips on the inside of it that's really the best I have for you I'm only saying that because I have 2 other engines that would have been made around the same time as Scotsmans tooling so most likely his tender body shell is just a clip on

Lovely collection and definitely bits I want myself (iron twins, Sodor Mail TPO) I also really love the Hit era wagons they did and all the others, it's just annoying they used coach chassis on the grey troublesome trucks with the stepboards rather than the normal LWB chassis on the Norstand type wagons as they're the same length. Hopefully Duck gets his copper cap one day! I don't think the part should be too expensive to import, or you could buy a busted up GWR 101 loco for its chassis and chimney cap unless you plan to make Lady. For Scotsman you should be ablw to unclip the tender body without unscrewing anything, i usually wiggle it to one side and pull and then you shoykd be able to pry the mitir block out with a flat blade screwdriver, thats how it usually is with ringfield corridor tenders
@XleeHS7 ай бұрын
just wiggling it isn’t enough to get the body shell off. any other suggestions?
@numptypootis80122 ай бұрын
@@XleeHS typical me being late to the party and spelling everything wrong in my comment, my fat fingers and lack of spell checking curse me - I'm hoping the tender body isn't glued on by a previous owner or something, you could be able to gently run something thin like a craft knife blade to try pop up each tab of the tender body, unless for some reason there is a screw holding it on

“Kinda the best mechanism on any Dean single” The type 7 motor the newer ones use is awful, quite frankly the 60 year old Triang model which Hornby used as Emily’s basis is a far superior locomotive in terms of performance and serviceability
@XleeHS4 ай бұрын
the early 2000s ones are solid tho, the newer ones do kinda suck tho i’ll agree on that😭
@Hacksworth_Sidings4 ай бұрын
@@XleeHS I’ve personally never had experience with one of the 2000s models, though it’s more mid/late 2000s as the Achilles (and Emily) both came into Hornby’s range in 07, the only update being the chassis design, aside from that, everything can be traced back to the 1961 Triang release, I actually own an original LotI but with the horror stories I’ve heard of type 7s blowing up, I’ll happily stick to the well oiled, reliable X.05 motor
@Hacksworth_Sidings3 ай бұрын
@@XleeHS Watching again out of boredom, if you haven’t already sorted it then I’d recommend getting a Hornby 0-4-0 (the GWR side tank 0-4-0, based on the “101” class) and ripping the chimney cap off that for use on Duck, it was a standard Triang fitting used on the LotI (Emily’s Hornby basis), the 5700 (Duck’s Hornby basis), and this fitting has transitioned over to a few modern Hornby models, including the 101
