What a treat! I came in from shoveling snow for 3 hours and there is Part2. Now I’m sitting in front of a warm fire, watching you fly in the bright sun. Almost as good as flying myself.

Another awesome video and I didn’t remember the military schemed Ercoupe that was there. Very cool. Loved it.

Could see several of my old Hang Gliding sites, from the 90s & 2000s near Lakeview and others on the way to Hood River. Lots of good memories.

Ahhh… poor Lakeview… I was there just last year on the way down from WA to Scottsdale - and then back - and the fridge was stocked, as well as a wide assortment of snacks. Took me forever, and a local dude, to figure out how to work the fuel, however. I overthunk it, turns out… 😁 Amazing respite from the local thunderstorms.

Reminded me of flying an Ercoupe in the 80's. You have to consider your route to match the slow climb performance, and lots of time to reach your destination.

I was going to land there in 2022, in the Maule, but only made it as far as the Evergreen Museum. Heard about a 50th anniversary thing about "American Graffiti" at Petaluma and changed plans, A nice change from southern California and experienced actual Oregon weather.

Amazing desert and mountain scenery as always, many thanks James. I was at the New Year's Fly-In at North Weald airfield here in Essex, UK today, and a 1967 Alon A2 Aircoupe (G-AVIL) flew in. Rare over here these days. Ercoupes are even rarer. I chatted to the owner and gave him the links for the Ercoupe Facebook page, your KZbin channel and Ercoupe TV. He was looking forward to looking at everything once he got home. Cheers, Graham.

@@JamesGood There's an Alon Aircoupe (G-HARY) based at Duxford now. Next time you are over we can try and hook you up with the owner.

Outstanding content! How long was this flight, did you continue to have tail winds like in part 1 ?
@JamesGood2 ай бұрын
Hi Doc. Thank you! It was 2 hours 20 minutes. I think we had a bit of a tailwind the whole way.

Maybe it's time you gave some thought to laminating your checklist between plastic. It's starting to look a little ragged.

You have no ailerons ? Or giant flaps that you can use as ailerons too ? Kinda flaperons ?
@JamesGood8 ай бұрын
Hello Dirk. I have two full-span ailerons, and no flaps. The Ercoupe does not need flaps to get down quickly; just pull the power, and it comes down just fine. They are not flaperons.

It's a satellite tracker. If I go down, I can call for help. It's also constantly sending to a website that my wife can check on!
