Wow, these are very different from the last showing of paintings at HW aren't they? The drawing and paint handling are masterful. It's easy to find comparisons to DeKooning, Cecily Brown, Baselitz, maybe Henry Darger. That's fine but I also hope Ackermann will trust her gifted hand and her eye to take paintings into territory all her own. Thanks james!
