I just found your channel and I am in love with your teaching. I took sewing in middle school way back when and am sewing again as a wife and mother of two boys. I purchased a machine for mending, but decided to quilt. After making several quilts I've decided I want to make some things for the men in my life. I found you just in time. If I used my own interlining, would it need to be cut on the bias? I'm assuming yes because the entire tie should stretch slightly after it is all sewn up, but that will use a lot of material unless I can cut and piece it together like with the outside shell material used.
