I never saw the movie Shane, so that's not a reference I would've understood even if I did hear it properly. I guess either word would work, so they at least had that going for them, but wow, what an intro.

I seem to recall that most Amiga AGA games were outclassed by console games on the Genesis and SNES. The benefit of the Amiga was you could do computer stuff on it, like BBS, which is why this abomination should never have been made.

The A3000 had some game compatibility issues with the early ST port games, it was an ECS machine, the same chipset as the A500+ and the A600, and the A4000 was AGA, like the A1200. All the big box Amigas were, were their domestic counterparts in bigger cases, with onboard power supplies, hard disks as default (A3000/A4000) and expansion slots for RTG and other cards. They would game just as well as the domestic machines could.

So I learned this a while back: the reason they put the warning to not play the CDs in a CD player, even though it doesn't really seem to do anything at all, is because CD players made after CD-ROMs started to become a thing have some kind of a modified DAC or something that makes them discard data tracks so they _can't_ damage your audio equipment. CD players made _before_ that (which would mean they have to be really old) don't have that protection in place.
