I think windows are harder to break now. Windows in like the 80s were way thinner and maybe not tempered? I just know from experience they broke easier. Modern windows are definitely beefier.

As a former paperboy myself, I can attest that many times I had my female customers run out in their robe, curlers, and slippers to bitch me out about something. Like cutting through their yard or putting the paper in the wrong door or not getting a certain section of the paper and etc. Whoever designed this game was obviously a former paperboy himself.

I loved this game as a kid and became a paperboy. I can confirm that by rolling your papers up a certain way resulted in a superior throwing weapon. It was more like throwing a hatchet. I prided myself on my ability to throw from the street or sidewalk accurately. I loved paper boxes because they were a challenge. My route was around 130 papers and I hated Sunday Papers...

The reason pausing the game is so difficult is due to a quirk in the game engine-the game cannot be paused while the digitized sound effects (dog barking, car horn, glass breaking, and crashing sound samples) are playing. It actually says so in the manual, surprisingly.
