Thank you Steve and Pauline for sharing this valuable discussion. And James for his hosting and editing. Just wanted to quote and include the below, as it struck me personally as particularly practicable. As I have been learning with IPSA, surface level things and structures can present an almost limitless potential for digression and loss of energy and time. Acknowledging as Steve did at around 24:50 - that even in relationship to the collective - there is a "Gordian knot" approach/solution/answer. That was very encouraging and assuring. I would imagine that it begins within ones own personal "ground"/context. And then builds up from there. Being able to take in, appreciate and digest videos such as these gives us the opportunity to perceive and understand this, the collective field and its dynamics even more. So thank you all again for the hard work you are all doing here 🙏there really is nothing else like it out there "It all incrementally adds up to a field effect. Because the more something is super-positioned, the less conscious people are of what it actually is that they are facing. Because its displaced in its representation. In different forms and at different levels. But fundamentally, there is one dynamic at work here. And if people become aware of that, then they can start to pull that representation out from those other levels, and start to get control". - Steve Richards

Hi Steve. I’ve struggled for years to wrap my head around the inevitable collapse of societies, (which I think the West is going through), and with your Genome life span idea, it’s even become more apparent that it’s impossible to stop a collapse without unleashing unintended consequences much like an individual can’t stop puberty, old age or death from happening without severe anxiety/depression/self destruction from happening. What would be your suggestion regarding this aspect on a societal level? I find Hari Seldon’s solution (From Asimov’s Foundation series) compelling but I don’t know of any real life examples of dealing with societal collapse.

Another fantastic video, and one that may be a vital step in flipping the field away from catabolism. I don’t want to inflate or reify you three, but I firmly believe that you three have been “chosen” to some extent by the collective genome to offer an alternative to the current trends. The timing of the birth of the JTLB channel and everything that has come out of that is not a coincidence in my view, it is the collective genome working through you in an attempt to reverse this catabolism. Contrary to most 'news' and discussion about such topics, which are misdirected by unconconious actors, the represenation of information strangely has a grounding effect, as it influences a lower register of consciouness potentially and I seem to be more attentive (or try to) on the sensing level. That being said, it is a difficult thing to do - meaning; to speak about those things in a calibrated and differianted way. Well done and thank you for sharing your insights. Great work. Simultaniously I do not 'feel' - in a affective manner at least - a danger since quite some time about any of those developments. That may is attributed to the country I am living in. All in all, I am quite positve despite those notions, and the enviroment in physical proximity seems to be in accordance currently, to which I am grateful. As things can change and I am sensitve (or try as best) to the overall implications, I very much look forward to the next videos on this topic. Keep at it.

Intuition and feeling our way through these times, it's like people are aware of something but have know idea what or how to be connected to themselves and flay around and grab onto the nearest thing to them blindly, to feel part of something instead of connecting within. I don't know what the outcome is at this point, I do know I can only step aside and observe events and work on myself and try to not react. Like otherwise it's not seeing the wood for the trees, then at least i think I'm in a position active observation. Thank you, I love what you do, it's like food ❤

I was stationed in Germany 30 years ago. While I was there, I studied the Rise and Fall of the 3rd Reich by Shirer and Mein Kampf. I wanted to understand how it was possible that such a civilized society as Germany could decay to the extent that it did in the 30's and 40's. I wondered if such an overwhelming tsunami of the unconscious could overtake the USA. In recent years I have concluded that yes indeed it can. All I have done in my decades of therapeutic work with others has been to help them to disconnect with the Hall of Mirrors (the internet of things and the culture wars and all the rest of the collective sheit testing we have created) and reconnect with the Self (or the genome as you would say). During the pandemic, I have gone back to Jung (where I left him in the mid 80's, cause he was too lofty for my adolescent mind) and completed reading his essential works in therapy & alchemy. I totally get Jung in my mid life where I never could've 40 years ago. I see Jung as a prophet of what became WWI. I see Jung as the importance of looking at the Self in order to understand all that "out there" (As Within so Without). The Red Book remains open in my office below a portrait of Jung. As Jung would want, I am not a Jungian, but he has been an "anchor" for me into the unconscious (those areas beyond the village of the little self). On a side note, this is why I got my masters in community and social psychology rather than clinical (I did my bachelors in clinical and did decades of clinical work). I did that because I understood that the collective psyche has a mind all its own (music concerts and wars are situations you see the collective psyche at play very well). Geopolitically speaking, Europe was extremely lucky this winter. Next winter may be another thing entirely. Stay strong. Remain adaptable.

Absolutely fantastic video. As the age old adage goes... 'History repeats itself'.
@JungToLiveBy Жыл бұрын
Hi again @tomhosking7766, yes indeed, and its scale-invariant. In 'Personal-history', neurotoc maladaptation, 'repeats itself' (Freud's 'repetition compulsion'). In both cases, its a misfired attempt at self-cure, either for an individual, or a culture. When a culture cannot regulate itself without repeating a catabolic process, its usual for biology to take over, at a Darwinian level, and regulate from there. Thanatos, operates at the level of culture, and that of the individual. It can be stopped however, and at all invariant scales, 'consciousness' is the key. Kindest Regards, Steve.

Hello again. I was wondering if you could clarify some things for me. In seems to me that, according to the perspective presented and assuming that I understood it correctly, the culling of the population is a process that has to take place no matter what. In other words, it is not a matter of "if" it is going to happen, but "how" it is going to happen. Am I correct in assuming that? If so then, that seems to me like even if a world war is avoided, then something else will have to give anyway (probably many things at the same time), like for instance the worsening of the relationship/relating between genders, an increase in gender disphoria, an increase on green/environment related authoritarian measures, etc. Am I correct in assuming that? If so, I was wondering if you could perhaps share, what do you think the best possible scenario could look like, under these circumstances. I ask because it doesn't seem to me like things are going to go back to the "old normal" anytime soon, if ever. Thank you.
@JungToLiveBy Жыл бұрын
Hi @miguelramiro1281, many thanks for your very thoughtful and reasoned comment. In reply, I would say that, 'no', it is not inevitable. Its really a question of homeostasis, that is, of self-regulatory balance. The 'field' that makes up our world, is composed of nested, interrelated systems, that each have their own homeostasis, with the field at the macro level, having a meta-regulatory dynamic. The place to start, is within our own reflexive self-awareness (our Ego Consciousness). It, is tasked with immediate awareness and adaptation to possibilities. However, it has a very limited bandwidth (the Miller-number) and is only extended under usual conditions, by reference to the memory and learning that make up our self-concept (our autobiographical time-line). Once we understand that information, is a field-phenomenon, and that 'consciousness' is itself a field, made up of superpositioned simulatneous states, we can then extend our understanding of the world, beyond our usual limitations. Rupert Sheldrake's work, on morphic ressonance and behavioural fields, is well worth some study. The 'field' can flip, under the influence of a critical mass of non-polarised consciousness. Once the field strength moves, it gains momentum. Kindest Regards, Steve.

Thank you for all the work you have been doing in recent years regarding Jung to live by channel, without a doubt, the videos that correspond to this "mini series of the Terminal Lucidity” have been one of the most important and in which I felt an instant connection when looking at them, it's like my instincts automatically align once I start listening to everything you guys say, and also somehow, oddly enough, it's like I already knew this information and already it was contained in me, but I was not able to articulate and externalize it in that way, perhaps the genome is only confirming through me what is currently unfolding globally. Also, strange or curious as it may seem, at the end of the video when Steve commented "it may just be that somebody has to say it" the phrase "The voice of one crying in the wilderness" appeared spontaneously in my mind, which according to the Christian tradition, it’s referred to the call of being attentive and prepare for what’s coming, translated in our current context, as Steve mentioned, I interpreted it as the call to be truly conscience. Something that has also been quite interesting and that I would like to share with you is that during the last 3 years (maybe since the covid) I have found how through different sources, different books, and even different people, how they all point indirectly or directly to instincts, it feels like life itself is telling me "that's the way", it has been quite impressive. Finally, I would like to ask you, as amateurish as the question may sound, how can we start the path to get in direct contact or align with our instincts, or failing that, how can we reconcile with them, to reach the state of consciousness of what Steve is talking about, to be honest I am in the worst mental health condition I have ever experienced, and during the last few years it has exacerbated like I never imagined, is there a “right way” to align with instincts? Again thank you very much for all the work you have done, you have no idea how important the information you share in your videos has become to me. Blessings 🙏

This series of videos has been really off the scales! So many gems. Thank you for putting this content out, even in spite of perhaps a certain degree of risk in doing so. I realized that some of the ideas presented, certainly explain the ritual killings of individuals, being so ingrained in, at least some, of the mesoamerican civilizations. The explanations put forward by researchers as to the purpose of that practice, never quite satisfied me. I suspected it could somehow be about increasing the availability of resources, by regularly reducing the overall population, but It never occurred to me that it could, perhaps, also be about improving the quality/fitness of the overall population.
@JungToLiveBy Жыл бұрын
Hi, @miguelramiro1281, we always must consider biology, as it will always consider us. The human Ego evolved to relate to the immediacy of the moment, and future possibilities, in the external world. It isn't naturally adapted to the 'inner-domain' and makes the common mistake of seeing itself, and the outeside world, in there. Biology, the 'logos of life' projects itself into psychology, and thence into culture. Its in all three domains simultaeously, by superpositioning. Reductionism is scale-invariant, even 'holism' is a form of reductionism. Superpositioning is the key to a dynamic understanding. Kindest Regards, Steve

Quite the chilling video, looking forward to the rebirth videos. One of the things I am reminded of when you talked about the Thanatos death-drive and the "time to recycle" trigger imperative is that common occurrence in cattle raising documentaries when occasionally newly-born calves just somehow completely lose the will to live and die shortly after being abandoned or rejected by their mother despite no fatal body-structural issues and technically having their food and shelter needs met through the farmers' care. You could almost hear the genome say "Nah. Next!"

Absolutely brilliant. The cross-generational full bandwidth of acceptable homeostasis of the human genome is challenged through larger and larger portions of the populations journeying too far outside of the boundaries for too long. Near uncontrolled entropic genomic drift at risk of being too spread out away from the genomes learned bandwidth of ensured survival. It knows this through being able represent itself, to itself, in lockstep with the given environment it is within. So it must step up, to the detriment of individuals everywhere, in order to secure its future for those individuals who are better aligned with its teleological goal from within whatever environment that may look like in the future.

Wonderful and very important to life at this time. I’m listening from USA and I can see it happening around us daily. My wife and I talk about it, but so many are fueled by the narcissism on our politicians. Just a suggestion: Is it possible to speak the common language of a typical high school student? So many big and specific “meaning” words that you leave many of us in the dark. I am a psychotherapist of 30+yeays, and following Jung for 40 years, and I still have a different time comprehending the rapid onslaught of bid words. Please understand that I am trying to catch up to your ability to speak with such knowledge. It all makes so much sense. Thanks
@JungToLiveBy8 ай бұрын
Hi @user-qt6hi4le1g, many thanks for your comment. Not all psychotherapies are the same. Some are easier to understand than others. That is no index on their efficacy. Jungian psychology is notorious for being theory laden, and being rooted in the subjective fantasies of its founder. Depth psychology (at least some of it) is evolving away from psycho-reductionism, as its clear now more than ever that psychology is an insufficient level of analysis, description and explanation, through which to understand the human condition, and its wider embedded domain. The result is that it must change, and incorporate areas of knowledge and practical clinical experience, that cross into many other disciplines. hence, it necessarily becomes much deeper and wider than before, and requires so much more of the practitioner. None of this troubles psycho-reductive theorists, or clinicians, but it should. The work has to be done, the time has to be put in. There are increasing numbers of therapists who are doing just this. Kindest Regards, Steve 🙏

For my dignity as a man, my human right which consists of refusing to obey any other man, and to determine my own acts in conformity with my convictions is reflected by the equally free conscience of all and confirmed by the consent of all humanity. I read lately "Cynical Therapies: Perspectives on the Antitherapeutic Nature of Critical Social Justice" edited by Dr Val Thomas (this book is written by like 20 specialists or something close to that) and now I get how bad it is in USA and I notice signs of it in Europe (also in Poland). After reading this book and watching some stuff about CSJ on KZbin I have a feeling that USA will implode and it feels weird that probably the safest country when it comes to wars will destroy itself (invasion on USA land is for me something that is very unlikely). Also I bought your book at the beginning of February and for some reason I read other books but I didn't start reading "Discover Your Personal Myth - Ultimate Handbook". Is my genome trolling me?

Hi @leefletcher8489, thanks so much for your kind comment, and support for the channel. Regarding AI, as you obviously know, this is a very significant issue, and its being addressed by a number of significant figures, ionclusing Professor Mark Solms (Neuropsychology and Neuropsychoanalysis). He, with others, are looking to reach the boundary of 'sentience' within A!, with a view to pausing there, and then convening a global conference on the implications, so that we don't stumble over that limit point without being prepared. One of the areas being adressed, is the funadmental nature of consciousness. Oure definition here at IPSA, which Professor Solms is aware of (he's a colleague) is 'Consciousness is a complexity of inflrmation, that represents itself, to itself'. That's broad enough to include AI, and any self-regulating system, from nano to macro scales. Kindest Regards, Steve

First of all, just “Thank you.” I am an American expat, living outside the West, and have been growing increasingly concerned over the past several years, both by news reports, and seeing and reading things, including posts by long-time friends, on social media. I have remarked to my wife that people seem to be going “insane”, even if temporarily, sometimes one at a time and sometimes as part of larger events. It may be happening in “waves” that rise and fall, but going back to even 10 years ago, the situation has clearly deteriorated and the amplitude of the waves and the number of alternate manifestations is increasing. I think that having less everyday exposure helps me to see it, as my frame of reference for my home is now a decade old. A friend of mine, from this region, moved to Canada, and was shocked at experiencing so much of what appeared to be poor mental hygiene (self care) and illness. Sadly, he is now planning to leave and move back home with his family, as he is concerned for his children. I have been reading, watching others on KZbin who seem to also be aware that something is wrong, and trying to understand the scope of these phenomena. Mattias Desmet recently wrote about “mass formation psychosis”. (I would be interested to know your take on this, if you are familiar with it.) But your 3-part presentation has covered a wide area and many of these various topics that turn out to all be related, and being influenced by a wider “field” of psychological and instinctive “energy”, and compared it with similar situations in history, such as the time leading up to WWI and the inter-war years. Your sharing this perspective gave me several “Aha!” moments, and is greatly appreciated! Your description of this negatively-directed “energy” being manifested in increasing social and political polarization reminded me of the “maya” (Illusion) of Indian philosophies that comes from mutually arising opposites. Honestly, I worry about my family, back in the US and Europe, getting pulled along by the strength of this field, and I only want them to be aware, keep calm, care for each other and be safe. I am looking forward to the next videos that will elaborate on your solutions and a path back from the brink.

for the concept of shadow we shouldn't put limits and say what not to do to our partner because otherwise the shadow will always have more pressure to do that forbidden thing?
@JungToLiveBy Жыл бұрын
Hi @deepshadow1, the 'Shadow' is only a problem if relating breaks down. The antidote to Jung's Shadow, is simply put, 'relating'. In Adler's 'Individual Psychology' this would be 'Social Interest' i.e., doing good for others, which for him, is the antidote for overcoming 'feelings of inferiority' and the over-compensations that arise from that. Adler and Jung, seek the same thing, via different theoretical constructs. In practical psychotherapy, relating is the cure for the Shadow. Kindest Regards, Steve.

Great video! Thank you all! - Around the 50 minute mark, the part of the discussion regarding Wotan in female form - I think it’s worth noting how many females in the West are becoming acquainted with and identifying with the goddess Kali from Hindu mythology. I see Wotan and Kali as similar configurations. The aspect of the “destroyer” found in Kali is often encouraged and gloried in Western women. Any more nurturing, more gentle, more agreeable, less-warlike goddesses just don’t seem to have the same mass appeal.
@JungToLiveBy Жыл бұрын
Hi again, @newcures7813, thanks so much for your comment. You draw a very important deep-structure parallel between the surface structure differences (between Wotan and Kali) and the deep-structure representation that unites them. Its possible, of course, to take the surface structures too literally, and Jungians do this with their fondness for 'amplication' which often just results in further abstraction away from the reality that is superpositioned deep benneath the surface, and into fantasy (the trrap that awaits all biologically nieve Jungians. Its interesting to experience the representational power of 'symbols' as by deinition, a true smbol should 'Represent something more, or other, than it appears to be'. When we grasp the significance of the superpositioning of information, we can see the extended field of representation, and therefore 'consciousness' beyond that which normally collapses into our Ego, with its subjective reflexivity. Your point about the lack of engagement with "more nurturing, more gentle, more agreeable, less-warlike goddesses", certainly highlights the underlying culrural catabolism, that is rushing to meet its final singularity, or a compensating confrontation, with a decisive field-reversal (Jung's enantiodromia). with all of this being said would you three consider making a video in which you talk about the conflict between the cultures terminal lucidity and the anima/animus? I think i understand that the anim(a/us) and the mother complex are projected differently in early development vs in early adult development. If the mother complex and or relating function are meant to switch from being projected on to the mother to being projected on society then it can be understood that peoples ability to relate would be maladjusted. In short: how can we attempt to relate properly in a corrupted world? *edit: especially when the mothers relation to the child had not been ideal and so the anim(a/us) of the child is underdeveloped at the switch of projection into society.*

I can't lie but I've had moments where they come back and I feel them. They just more damped and just lessen. Like something is holding them back. To be fully experiences and used. Is the planet conscious? Why would it want to "shit test" organisms multiple times, almost obliterating the potential for "higher" life? What is its endgame? If the planet wants to survive, it needs a competent, intelligent entity around that could detect and take action against potential threats that exist in the nearby solar system? Aren't we its best hope?
@JungToLiveBy Жыл бұрын
Hi @traceywright7790, if we take James Lovelock's 'The Ages of Gaia' (The Gaia hypothesis) into consideration as a starting point, there is an 'intuition' there at the very least, about the regulation of complex interrelated systems. The missing factor, usually, is an understanding of consciousness, as a 'complexity of information, that represents itself to itself'. This, taken with Informational-Monism and Superposition theory, and the field theories of Sheldrake and Penrose-Hameroff, give enough grounding to go 'look' for the evidence in the psyches of the lived lives of human beings; individually and collectively. Consciousness, should not be defined by or limited to, a human Ego's limited field of awareness and information carrying capacity, in relation to itself. This issue is tackled in Informational Monism. At the proper scale, which ultimately becomes scale-invariant, the Gaia Hypothesis, is part of a wider field of informational representation and self regulation, as a 'field'. Once we understand that information, is a field-phenomenon, and that 'consciousness' is itself a field, made up of superpositioned simultaneous states, we can then extend our understanding of the world, beyond our usual limitations. Rupert Sheldrake's work, on morphic resonance and behavioural fields, is well worth some study. The 'field' can flip, under the influence of a critical mass of non-polarised consciousness. Once the field strength moves, it gains momentum. If we don't regulate ourselves, as a species, through conscious action, the genome will default to itself. Darwin's footsteps are at first silent, but always inexorable. Kindest Regards, Steve.

I have a hard time seeing enough individuals developing this much consciousness. Of course, mass suffering could change that. I believe many an intuition will gravitate to an answer, unconsciously though. A myth, some dogma, to realign and harmonize western values. As Campbell noted ~ “we move too fast to create a new myth”. Therefore, l believe it wise to have at ready, the myth that has taken us so far. Tricky subject, I imagine, yet I am very interested in knowing why you all appear to not believe a return to Christianity in some form to be at least a possible avenue to circumvent potential disaster. Don’t see it as possible? Been there, done that? Not useful?
@JungToLiveBy Жыл бұрын
Hi again, @paulatreides9895, thanks for your comment. People will come to their personal Archemedian point, from many places, spiritual, psychological and bisopsychosocial. I've been (hopefully) very clear in various videos on the channel, about the positive view I hold of an authentic religious faith. Regarding Campbell, and in relation to this point, to Eric Weinstein too, my view, which has been consistently confirmed over the lat 43 years of clinical experience, is that the psyche is a natural myth-making system. These spontaneous myths emerge, authored from within, and only find their cultural superposition later (if at all) and here in relation to Weinstein, a myth is not something confirmed by others, psychosocially, that has a meme-like quality, on teh contrary, it emerges via the process of superpositioning, out from a non-Ego (non-Ego-conscious) representation, that is latent, in virtual form (Jung) within the genome, and its associated fields. True creatives, and people who work to overcome their suffering, generate natural myths. Shared cultural myths are only local projections of this 'superpositioned' consciousness, that anticipates our life-span development, from alpha to omega. Kindest Regards, Steve

Few months ago there was an almost all out war between Serbia and Albania over some nonsense in Kosovo. For a frozen conflict it has a tendency to boil over very quickly. Much of the signaling, from my side, came from the very religious folk, ironically. The field phenomenon you talk about kinda clicked with me, then. 16:42 So there is no 'free will' as such, it's just that more consciousness of the underlying levels and their agendas brings with itself more options to 'choose' from? But then you talk about the responsibility of the ego and the ego trying to excuse its behavior by referring to the idea everything comes from the unconscious. I think i get superpositioning, but i'm finding it difficult to bridge the apparent gap between these things. Anyway, i was just about to ask you on discord what the sentience of the 'unconscious' looks like, and boom, you start writing about it.
@JungToLiveBy Жыл бұрын
Hi @user-kw9hg9oi1f, thanks for your comment, by all means reach out on Discord too. Superpositioning is an unusual concept to grasp at first. We're too used to living in our immediate awareness, and the self-concept that has fomed in the wake of our liefe-span development, up to any given point. We're too used to think of the 'un'-conscious as being 'not'-conscious. Jung's understanding of the unconscious as being 'dynamic' of making its own decisions, of being structured out from 'autonomous complexes' that have a 'physiology of their own', have intentionality, and even act (in his understanding) as 'partial personalities' - overwhelmingly suggests that consciousness is not confined to our 'Ego'. Pierre Janet, whose studies on dissociation informed Jung's theory and practice, demonstrated what every depth psychologist today knows, that 'consciousness' is not a unitary phenomenon, and is not only self-reflexive awareness. Superpositioning. describes consciousness, as 'A complexity of information, that represents itself, to itself,' and demonstrates how information is a field of manifestation, that exists simultaneously in multiple states. When properly understood, this is liberating. Clinically it is ground-breaking, and in self-development, likewise. Kindest Regards, Steve

Hi again @ineffige, please be very careful about introjecting constructs about 'natural' processes, as if they were not normal. Attribution of an experience to a theory, should wait and be way downstream of the solution to a novel (personal) experience, and should not be that with which you lead with. Animation and mobilization of instinctive rehearsal (for example) in preparation for a phase of life-span development, or adaptation, may only seem 'pathological' because the true configuration from within, is not properly understood, that is, it is 'un'-conscious. People are living systems, embedded as figure to the ground, of the wider field of life. Kindest Regards, Steve

This might be drifting off into the woo but there's something I hear, often, from both NDE'ers and people who've had pre-life memories, it's that we have 'soul contracts' for every step of our lives and the major key events (both beneficial and traumatic). While it seems almost perverse it just gets drummed in constantly as a reality they encounter which, at least to my best estimate, makes it semi-empirical. On one level that sounds really grim because... think of the bedlam and horrors of the 20th century... all of that would have been checked off on, even known ahead and still stepped through. I'm not 100% sure of superdeterminism but it's seemed like a likely story to me in the past from the reference of behaviors as effects always having antecedents (ie. you couldn't replay the same five minutes of your life and 'do something different' if there was no difference of content to fuel a difference) and that sort of block universe theory feels like it fits in with ideas like soul contracts. I guess my question's less about the determinism and more about what your read is of the whole NDE phenomena and what level that might rest in (my guess in the past - when people have spontaneous healings of cancer or extreme bodily trauma - such as with NDE's - it's the will of higher level conscious amalgams, maybe even top-level, deciding a person is worth investing in and it throws enough energy against their system for their genes to do the repair they need, for the rest if it however like people pulling into the station after the tunnel - it's too divorced from what we know, as far as I can tell, to give it a biological story unless it's going into some kind of Bell's no hiding related space). One other thought - as to my own considerations on determinism - I don't think there's any philosophic consideration that yields giving up as a properly seductive option, particularly when with or without superdeterminism - Solzhenitsyn's Gulag Archipelago doesn't take on any lighter tone, nor do I think it would be any more pleasant to be in the Holodomor, Unit 731, guillotined in the French Revolution, or anything else like that. Even if all of this were technically a play - the directors and actors have big enough sticks that you don't wanna f' up or even enable others to do so if it's going to be contagious.

Personally, I feel more positive about the future. Especially having those new things to use, which weren't used in the Roman empire. And at the same time, I suppose, it is necessary to take a look at the matter even deeper. Like, there was a crisis in heathenism, probably due to the same Jungian inflation, that's why Christianity was embraced, partially to heal that sick society and at the same time creating communism 1.0, the trees that were unrooted in all different senses. And at the same time christianity showed that it didn't solve all the problems. I read the book about the popes of the catholic church and I saw the same lust for power and pretending to be of the «saint qualities». But in reality kings fought against popes and popes fought against popes. And personally I'm not sure what was worse - christianity in the late Roman empire or the depraved heathenism. Probably, there should be some metaphor from the gardening. I remember when my grandmother showed me that I was able to cut a branch from the tree (with fruits, don't remember which) and put it into the water, later the roots would show up. I think this thing works also with roses and other flowers. I'm not sure whether it works with the dry tree, though. You know, when you speak about «fileds», it reminded me the occult term «egregore». I see lots of similarities, really. And at the same time it is also like the idea of the «fields». And it has some collective qualities, also. I find it curious. I don't know how others think, but I suppose it is necessary to summarize what christian religion gave to the Western world. Because, if we take a look at it, it didn't solve the problem of the ills of the Roman empire. It just postponed it. Witch-hunt, probably reminds me the same «Great Purge» in the USSR, done by Stalin. Because they look kinda similar. Witch-hunt was an attempt to get rid of the heathenism and at the same time to cleanse the same things that were present in the late Roman empire. And sometimes I wonder what knowledge is hidden in Vatican. Isn't it the knowledge that was taken from the witches? And to increase the strength of the catholic church? From the strategical point of view, it might be so. And to get rid of the foes of christianity. Also, that witch-hunt metaphor was also used during the Stalin's purge and McCarthy's case. Or partially it was the same hedonistic force, that uses the same name, as it was during the Middle Ages and during those processes? Lots of interesting coincidences, really. Sometimes I suspect that those hedonistic forces describe themselves as witches. Interestingly, also, the book «Maleus Maleficarum» is translated as «Hammer of Witches», but the Latin maleficarum is not a witch, but something malefic or «intended to do some harm». Because the opposite of malefic is benefic, beneficial. Also, the prefix «mal-» shows that something «doesn't work well» or has some «mal-functions» (malfunction, maladaptive, malware, malevolent, etc). Maleus Maleficarum = The maul of the malefic. And it gets to the idea of the «problems with instinct».

Surely Steve does America not have to fall before the collective change that jung spoke about to take root?
@JungToLiveBy Жыл бұрын
Hi @ejenkins4711, it will have to fall 'enough' - but hopefully, not too much. The danger is in a run-away positive (negative direction) feedback loop. The first step is for people to understand that they are not dealing with a 'human' Ego consciousness, and in particular, not their own. Collective forces are impersonal, and regulate according to their own dynamics. There are ways, and these are being constellated as patterns in the field, right now. Kindest Regards, Steve

Worrying. Intense. Complicated time to live, and difficult to reach awareness. From the point of view of humanity we of course should survive, and possibly solve all problems we actually have from poverty to immigration, global warming, global control, overpopulation, and of course what to seems today a minor problem as racism (but it isn't at all actually), genders "war" etc. My question is how we arrived to this mess ? In my opinion is that as race we have not a target, and if someone asks me if we should survive as race, I would say yes, but I am not sure we are one only race (as humans), yes I believe we have been infiltrated by aliens races and yes we are under control. So other question from me is out to get out of the control? Then a third question arises: we are a dominant specie, we dominate all other animals, and we destroy the planet, better for the planet if we go....so my question, will we be able to change and restore the planet? I think if we are in this situation is because we have no more dreams, no more path to go for, than becoming fully controlled, something similar to a robot. The real problem is the power, that is in the hands of a few crazy controllers, and against it we can't do nothing, even being free thanks to consciousness, we are still in the system, how to get out? Evolving all humanity ? I think it is too slow process. So how to get out from slavery and be free to plant trees and build mud houses and stop paying taxes that serves fro wars and to control us? Many questions. one last. Is psychology before philosophy? as I think that if we have nothing right in mind that drives us, psychology can be useless, if in our time there are no models to refer, and then to detatch to become an individual. Thanks!

Hi @the-gate, thank you for your comment and questions. We will offer some answers in the next three videos in the series. Regarding the specifics of your last question, abstract, academic (university) psychology, is 'useless', just as you suggest. Philosophy, again as an 'academic' abstraction, is probably even worse. 'Right action in the world' is the way forward. Again, this will be covered in the next three videos in the series. Kindest Regards, Steve.

I’ve enjoyed learning a bit more about psychobiology and your innovative connection of Jungian psychology biology and political cultural theory. I like the focus on instincts and the idea that archetypes are images of instincts. I’ve enjoyed the Anthony Stevens book. You’ve lost me a little bit here… It sounds like you’re saying that the human genome is the physical manifestation of what Jung called collective unconscious. That it operates at an individual level and at a collective level through a kind of field effect that we are unconscious of. That it’s driven by biological processes to regulate the number of its population. This happens within individuals and is shown in their life choices This is shown through the emergence of a political force that aggressively promotes trans and non binary rights. And perhaps through certain kinds of environmental activism and feminism. That’s the genome attempting to test the strongest or best adapted variants of human beings through creating conflict and warfare. That the only way to prevent a mass war is to lead a conscious life. A conscious life means one that follows instinctual cues, like an animal. There are a few thoughts I have about this - firstly I’m not sure how the relationship between The (human) Genome and the genome of other species and the wider relationship to nature works here (are all Genomes in a field effect like Gaia or an ecological unconscious?)Or between a personal genome and a collective one - that would be pretty hard to establish You can argue that culturally fixed gender roles coupled with aggressive industrial imperialism and a lack of consciousness of the living earth and environment within an industrial framework have brought about precisely the exploitation of nature that has led to climate chaos and mass extinction. Was Columbus living an instinctive life or Captain Cook? Was Julius Caesar or Boudicca or chief sitting bull? Or Florence nightingale or the indigenous peoples of America Africa Australia? It’s hard to say because of the sheer amount of variation of what is necessary to do in a given place or time. The cultural forces that wish to “re establish masculinity” are generally also aligned with aggressive business interests around oil. Fascism seems to be effectively a cult of masculine fetishism. I appreciate your attempts to reestablish masculinity in more conscious ways could be a way of undermining this kind of rising digital fascism and eco fascism. It’s certainly not hard to see climate chaos leading to conflict and a fragmentation of civilisation as resources become scarce. I think the problem with this analysis for me lies in the way that it seems to hint that a conservative political and social approach might be best -but the problem is that aggressive industrial liberalism and a kind of petro masculinity has also taken the species to the brink - we will need environmental laws and a broad as well as personal readjustment towards an ecological unconscious and nature. And an analysis of how instincts have also led to deep social and environmental problems when coupled with a unfettered liberal capitalism Anyway hard to say much more in a comment section

Hi @lupinecollides, thank you for your comment. The point at which you say that we lost you, is really the point at which you depart from the video and start to project some of your own conflicts and issues into it. That, is normal, in every sense, as its what everyone does, when conflicting dynamics circulate in and out of their awareness. If you're unsure on field dynamics as described in the video then check out Rupert Sheldrake's extensive work over the past 40 years, and look into Sir Roger Penrose and Professor Stuart Hameroff's work on field dynamics and consciousness. There are plenty of others working hard in this field. Then, the acid test is to work in depth with thoudands of people over several decades, people other than ourselves. The kind of eveidence you find there, is transpersonal at the psychological level, and fundamental at the biological and field level. Without that, most understanding is only cognitive, and hence an abstract idea, held by an Ego conscious only of a very small part of itself. Kindest Regards, Steve

@@JungToLiveBy Thanks for the reply Steve. I do, of course experience conflicts over the issues described in the video. These conflicts seem very real and I am picking up on some of the ones that bothered me in your presentation. In fact, in the terms of your video you seem to be saying that conflicts are produced unconsciously and projected outwardly to regulate population dynamics. In the terms of the video, I think it's unclear within the video to what extent and when you are talking about an individual person's genome, or a collective human genone, or the genome of other animals or species, or the genome of gaia - or what the relationship between these are. also if you mean that selective pressures work on people before they have children in order to "delete" genetic strands. I also think that although you mention biology you don't mention ecology, which is the interaction of different species within a field or ecosystem. I think that is has an unconscious of it's own, that may also be felt and experienced at the transpersonal level. Thanks again for taking the time to make the video I appreciate the difficulty in holding the tensions between the various layers whilst holding your own without collapsing into a particular one

Hi again @lupinecollides, time constraints for videos, and for answering comments mean that it isn't always possible to answer, or even repeat answers, where the information has already been given, and is there to find with a little effort. Ecology is more than addressed, by the informational-field model, and by superpositioning, as is the interrelationship between individual and collective human genomes the genome of other species, and the wider environment. If you were familiar with our model, you'd certainly see that. It might be useful for you to check out other videos on the channel. This would help you understand what you ask about selective pressures, and the transpersonal too. It's always best to understand what you are questioning, before imposing a subjective interpretation on it. This video and text medium isn't an ideal 'ecology' and we all have to work within it. Kindest Regards, Steve

@@JungToLiveBy thanks Steve you are right about comments they are a restrictive medium. Perhaps I was a little blunt as it sounds as if you feel I am rushing to be unfairly critical of your model. I think it’s a powerful explanatory model and I’ve enjoyed listening to you speak about it over quite a few hours over the years. It has been quite inspiring. However I think any model necessarily omits something in order to be a model which is how come we look out of the window driving not at the sat nav. I just think in this instance that there is a string tension between the political implications hinted at in the video and the ecological reality on the ground. The relationship between genomic strands I offer as feedback not criticism. And I would like to hear you speak more about ecology place and it’s relationship to the unconscious as you have in other videos

One thing bugs me though. If the genome cares so much about the continuity of life on Earth, why isn’t it more selective when it comes to people (and animals too)? In my native language there is a saying that can be paraphrased into: “The devil doesn’t take bad people with him”, meaning that bad people live long and don’t get ill - which is often true. If a person is already so old that they’re not able to reproduce anymore, they don’t contribute to society in a meaningful way and they don’t have a spiritual life to share that wisdom with their community, and on top of that they’re evil beings greatly disturbing those around them - why are they still here? Same goes for old, angry and dangerous animals. I can understand that there are certain places where being evil guarantees you better survival, but on average, what is survival of such a person worth if they don’t have anything meaningful to offer in return? All they do is continuing to use resources that could be used in a better way by people better adapted and ready to reproduce. Deleting such people would actually guarantee that people who are more biologically, socially and spiritually valuable have more resources at their disposal - why isn’t it happening? If the genome has to shittest us at a global scale, which in itself is a gigantic destabilisation to the population, why doesn’t it do enough to avoid it? Why wouldn’t it simply prevent it from happening by regularly weeding out those who cause trouble? Does it want us to be exposed to such behaviour and happenings to strengthen us? Also, if we consider pandemics as a form of shittest, there is plenty of examples where the bad people survived and the good ones didn’t. As much as I understand the need for a shittest, the lack of consistency doesn’t make sense to me. Can anyone please help me make sense of it? The video is, of course, excellent and I’m very grateful that you’ve uploaded it and shared it with us. I’ve been thinking about it for the past two days, trying to absorb all the knowledge. I will be forever grateful for your efforts 🙏🏻 Edit: grammar.

Hi again @lauralis, thanks for your comment. The starting point is to accept that in human-Ego conscious terms, 'the Genome doesn't care'. Our feeling-toned values, including our instinct to care, originates in the genome, but not exclusively in the human one. Its an adaptive strategy, that appears 'consciously' according to the development and adaptation of a given species, with the overall intention (from the genome's perspective) of optimising succesful reproduction of itself, via 'individuals' within a species that competes with others (the food chain etc). Recombination is part of sexual reproduction. The genome accepts variegation of itself, as being part of its own strategy for survival. At a certain level of resolution, even individual species don't matter, because the wider bio-field is quite capapble of organising itself to fill vacated niche spaces., through evolution and adaptive radiation. 'Shit testing' as a colloquialism for the testing of fitness. At one level, this is alogithmic. What human Ego consciousness may understand as 'good, or 'bad' or even 'evil', is, within algorithmic tolerances, simply adaptive fitness testing. Human values are gifted innately, its up to a developed reflexivity, to test these against reality. So, there is a place for a morally developed personal consciousness, but collapsing into that, as an abstraction, away from the reality of collective forces, biological and environmental, is less adapted than such an abstracted moral reflexivity, may care to contemplate. Consciousness of the challenge, at all of its approriate levels of representation, and action, is the starting point for bringing about homeostatic change. Kindest Regards, Steve

Knowledge of what’s happening is great but we can get gripped by the acquisition of more and more detail in the vain hope that the knowledge is the solution itself. It isn’t. This can be kept easy by simple action in the world such as being respectful, humble, personable, avoiding seeing others (especially groups) in opposition to us. In the bible (NT specifically) this behaviour is what they call Love (charity). Perhaps, all we need is love?

Hi @Adrian-vk5xl, a switch in field-strength will require a whole bandwidth of compensating dynamics to kick in, and preople will find their ground to apply their personal archimedian lever. Kindest Regards, Steve

on a real note, what do you think about online trolling contributing to the collective trickester gnome?
@JungToLiveBy Жыл бұрын
Hi @alastairmcbricky3456, the 'Trickster' is a 'reified' image of a compensating (homeostatic) function, that manifests at all levels - biological, psycholocial and social. Trolling can be an element in this dynamic. The problem, has always been when the troll, the comedian or whoever 'acts or speaks' as a medium for the Trickster function, they can't regulate their own self-identification with it. At that point, the Trickster, turns on its host, in an auto-immune fashion. Folklore expresses, what biology has always known. Kindest Regards, Steve.
