I'm sure I can say that after studying the material for multiple years now. One of the most compact and information packed, aswell as cultural relevant video you've posted.The compact display of IPSA's models, including the fundamentals, is top notch. One of my favourite videos by far, and that's not only because, as a man, I can relate to that specifically mentioned material here (by a lot). That last analogy by James is the cherry on top. I've almost skipped the outro as I thought the video has ended. Incredible outro James! I felt that and it resonated deeply.

Thank you for your very kind comment maltsday; the outro was originally a Discord post from Steve, which lots of people in the server found very moving: it encapsulates everything men need to do, from that deep affect-level. Really glad you enjoyed the video 🙏 All the best, James

There is a quote attributed to the Lakota Shaman, Black Elk where he is describing his great Vision. I feel it embodied in this series and it even mirrors the closing statement. “But I was not the last; for when I looked behind me there were ghosts of people like a trailing fog as far as I could see -- grandfathers of grandfathers and grandmothers of grandmothers without number. And over these a great Voice -- the Voice that was the South -- lived, and I could feel it silent. And as we went the Voice behind me said: "Behold a good nation walking in a sacred manner in a good land!" This whole series is a masterpiece. Thank you so much.

This cultural issue has been fundamental in the estrangement I’ve experienced in my own sexuality over my lifespan. The implicit assumption that women will be misandrist, and often the real experience of women who appear overly masculine, has prevented me from engaging with them at all. A lack of father confirmation, of ones own masculinity, doubles down on this problem tenfold. I’ve observed how connection to my own masculine instincts, relating well, bypasses any superpositioning of this same cultural phenomenon in the opposite sex. The strategy forward presented here is just spot on, and I look forward to implementing it into my relating. Stellar video, as always.

I’ve had many synchronicities lately starting at the beginning of this series. It built up to a single point of understanding that greatly reshaped my understanding of our present context, while also shaping my understanding of what I must do now. A year + ago when I heard Steve say “the men of this generation are as good as those who came before them” I teared up. It’s still deeply moving, but today I understand those tears, and I can agree with him, we certainly are. Almost like a magnet, when the field around me started shifting, new friends, family members, work opportunity, etc, started to coalesce in my environment of those who are either reaching a similar conclusion of action, or are approaching it. (Localized Field shift in resonance with internal adjustments) I say all of this to say that the reality is true, pressure tested against my experiences. I’ll always be grateful for JTLB in my heart! Towards a brighter future, together!

In reference to the To Steve saying that the current Monarchy are a sham. When I was watching the coronation there was no vitality present no heroic spirit ! It reminded me of the the Museum Fremen in Frank Herberts Dune series. In book four " God Emperor of Dune " the Fremen a one great heroic people who crackled with vitality are eventually reduced to shadows of themselves. Kept as "pets " by the God Emperor Leto, they are reduced to acting out the past rituals which are now completely devoid of all life and meaning.

Excellent video with profound insight. There are definitely Hegelian/Lacanian undertones too especially when Steve was talking about how Pauline made his own identity more valued or significant (like complete) so he had to take that into account when faced with difficult circumstances. It is as if the context of the other sex in this sense reinforces your own identity even though separate people. It is with the other where we are whole. Very Hegelian, very indepth this theory of work that you have brought forward here. The key takeaway I got was to prepare to be a hero (humbly without showing it off) rather than to strive to BE a hero. Preparation for the worst and for the 'moment' is key.

Years ago I wondered and wonder still what this channel is about. Because, if true, these ideas are the future and assumes humanity is worth saving on its face. Do you really believe it is in our best interest to know ourselves and isn't that antithetical to the experience of the journey itself? Are we so far gone that intervention is necessary, truly, necessary? I've often thought of reform. The way we teach our kids in schools. The methodology. If we only knew ourselves both how and why from the early stage development...perhaps wouldn't be so confused as a species. Can we put the power of knowledge in the hands of this generation and believe if they could ultimately use these advancements in vertical thinking and new models to manipulate or abuse simply better? I am afraid the world is not ready and very unqualified to judge anything. These are questions I wrestle with. Then wonder, who is qualified, the ones with answers? How do they know? I want to have faith. But after I read the source material CG Jung cited it made me wonder. The Hermetic Tomes and others about the nature of reality is. Further back I went 5 years ago when I first clicked on these videos and started independent study, I wondered. Now I only wonder if its wise to share what we are discovering so freely. Parts of Jung's desires were to make up for what he believed he was responsible for in the world war, potentially avoid another, and also to not have the other published works I read published. Maybe that was wisdom, humanity has come so very far, this video is so close to my most genuine fears. The ones he didn't want published, yeah? Tell me you're not afraid of what we could do with answers so profound they suspend personality/individuality to conceptualize, to understand. Because once we know, there is no going back, especially if we want to. I am a resuscitation survivor who's incurred brain damage and I wonder all the time what makes some worthy and why I was. When so many others deserve to. Come back. What do we do with answers we aren't meant to have, you know? Offensive answers, to the question of reality, that break what it means to be human and contained between life and death. If the cost to know is survive the unthinkable. God, I wonder if we were meant to know.

Going to watch this a few times! The guru phenomena is such a tricky one. I always find myself thinking I'm impartial to them, watching them for pure entertainment, because underneath it all it is pretty much just entertainment masquerading as 'profound insight'. Then before you know it you're sucked right in, unconsciously (or consciously) embracing all their philosophies as your own! The annoying thing is with a lot of these gurus, is that there is a real grain of truth to a lot what they preach and believe - but it's presented in such a cartoonish way that it becomes all encompassing to the viewer - and we as the viewer just want that next hit and get lost in fantasy. This is something I'm really struggling with at the moment. I know on an intellectual level what it is doing - but every time I 'purge' myself I get sucked back in months later.

Steve and Pauline did a video ages ago, on maladaptive complexes. I took notes. "It is, however, possible to become conscious of the complex through intervention and by doing so to reduce its impact significantly, usurp executive control from the ego. The complex is not under the control of the will and for this reason it possesses the quality of psychic autonomy. Its autonomy consists in its power to manifest itself independently of the will and even in direct opposition to conscious tendencies.’ It is the secret life of complexes. They transfer and are contagious ! The real danger of complexes is that they need energy and you only have so much to go around. Complexes, especially neurotic ones, can bleed you dry. They are like monsters sitting on your shoulder feeding off your neurosis. The monster feeds off the images, memories and emotions. And it will create situations to keep it alive. The unconscious complex will take possession of the ego and make it behave in a manner that brings about the result which it needs to feed on. Unfortunately complexes are not like a tooth that you can extract. You have to find the right expression for it, or if it is totally unacceptable, oppose it.The only way to get neurotic complexes under control is to make them conscious, so that you can express them in an appropriate manner. Jung said that if it is unconscious, it is against you." This was really really helpful for me, to get past a Facebook addiction. And other things in my life too. I wasn't even that addicted, I've never had it on my phone, but I hated it anyway. I find FB toxic. I first realised that there is NOTHING WRONG WITH ME. FB has spent MILLIONS on their algorithm, and it knows exactly how to hook an audience, and hijack their biology/emotions/intellect. So it is with gurus, video games, all manner of addictions. So there's nothing wrong with you either. I took Steve and Pauline's advice, and just opposed it. I changed my log in email to my boyfriends, and changed my password too, and only he had the Pass word, so it was just an extra layer of distance. I had to ask to get logged in, and I would log out, if I went on. After a few weeks, the grip of that bad habit just dissolved. And eventually, after a few moths, I'd log in, and it would literally make me feel nauseous within 30 mins, and feel quite unbearable. I wouldn't log on for months on end, and if I did, it was only for 30 mins or so. Its very very good, that you at least SEE your maladaptive behaviour. Maybe where you are getting stuck, is thinking that you SHOULD be able to control it. That there is something wrong with you, because you can't. There's nothing wrong with you. Lots of things in our current world are deliberately set up, by different entities, corporate, spiritual, materialistic, gurus, big Pharma, food etc, to ensnare us, by using our own nature against us. If you see the truth, that this is beyond your limited resources and control, that in and of itself will bring you freedom to find some kind of solution to you getting sucked in.

Question for you guys, is one of u familiar with hegels work ? He also has a notion of “dialectic” which is in some way similar to the explanation Steve gives. Also, can his ideas of relationships (and the value of it) (we, I, i we) with others also be similar to the idea of relating u explained multiple times? Thanks 🙏🏼

Hi @kishouarima1190, many thanks for your comment, I can say that Hegl was a very early influence of my ideas and my work. @@JungToLiveBy very interesting to hear what influences he had on u! i wondered because i could see a link between his ideas and your explanations. Outstanding video as always. I have always been fascinated by the panksepp model. I have wondered though, about the definition that it only extends to mammals ? Although I do get that any given model has to define itself within constraints. But after watching the amazing documentary, "My Octopus Friend" I do wonder whether these instincts extend beyond mammalians ? It's a beautiful documentary to watch. Sending lots of love to you three as always. Thank you !

Hi again, @fionaparker, you make a very good point concerning Pankseppian instincts. It seems that many of those that appear in specific pathways in the mamallian brain, have analogues in any other advanced life-form, even with a different phylogenetic heritage. Consciousness, certainly goes beyond (and benneath) only brain structures, and includes 'information' in any organised complexity, that can represent itself, to itself. We were interested to note how Professor Mark Solms is extending his inquiries into consciousness into field and information models, as we had done since the 1980s. Very insightful video! I was wondering then if its alright to be "inspired" by myths of heroes to do appropriate real life action. Sort of like singing a sea shanty while rowing. Or perhaps there is some hidden trap there. I find that sometimes this inspiration can spur me on to do the things I wanted to do anyways, like work more or practice more martial arts. This at least sounds useful for adaptation from my point of view. Perhaps the risk is in overly identifying with these figures and forgetting about our specific context and that we are individual people, not batman or whatever. Anyways, great video! Can't wait for the other two!
@JungToLiveBy
@JungToLiveBy Жыл бұрын
Hi again, @ernitis1304, yes, its very useful to be able to resonate with collective myths and narratives. The hidden trap, you mention, acts in the gap (the 'Bardo space and time') between an affective connection with the collective, and its subjective (personal) identification. We're meant to feel and to think, neither only one or the other. Affective identification, leads to imitation, rather than genuine personal experience. If collective narratives prepare us for experiences we 'should' (as in our genome expects us to have) but have not (yet) had, then they can be useful. When the collective replaces the personal, as in fanatsy replacing imagination (and action in the world) its then that we should realise, that we've lost our way. Internet Gurus, want you to lose your way, and follow them. They need you to give their own life, meaning. Kindest Regards, Steve.

Few weeks ago I found out that I can't "create" images in my mind's eye (black colour only - void) and that it is called aphantasia so rip my imagination. ADHD traits on top of that (diagnosed) with some autistic characteristics (but that might be because of ADHD) - I know from earlier videos that you aren't fond of putting someone in ADHD box(especially video with your son if I remember correctly) but I guess it is easier than mentioning all traits in a comment. Atleast I don't take SSRI anymore (anxiety disorder) so my emotions are back and because of this I have been working out for last 5 weeks (simple exercises, I am not going to gym). But I will try my best to stop being stuck with whatever cards I have in my hand. Also today I got recommended video about the slow poison of endless fantasy, algorithm knows. I managed to run away from watching pron few years ago, from watching twitch few months ago (gaming streams) and from reading news (few weeks ago) about stuff that is out of my control - such as war in eastern Europe. In general I am trying to cut off distractions, focus on action and my own life (also thinking about realizing important values for me). Tho I still don't have a solid goal that I would happily follow when I wake up everyday. I am curious into what is my seeking instinct (or if it is functioning at all - I guess it isn't). Atleast I am allergic to internet gurus and to tik tok. Great video as usual. Last three videos are something special. Those videos really resonate with me.

Hi again @AuroraT927, yes, you make a very good point. its our burden to have be both difficult and simple, about this material. To reach 'real' everyday folks, its important to be relational, in every natural sense. To reach 'academics' its necessary to show the depth that underpins the (much more imprtant) surface. Many of the best therapists we've ever trained, have not been academics. Indeed, creatives have a much more natural grasp of depth psychology. than any acdemic psychologists, we've ever known. Thank you for such a great video, its just delightfull to get such a fresh and yet experienced point of view on important topics. I would like to ask a question particularly directed to Steve. I really admire the capability he has for describing different points of view and how fluently he speaks his language (just to be clear I do the distinction because my native language is spanish), its almost as if you could grasp the depth and substance of his ideas. With that said, my question is related to how one can develop and improve in a 'litterary' context. I have personally been exploring, and trying diferent ways of developing and experiencing creativity, and by far writing has been the one I respond best to. As a last point, is there any advice you could give to aspitring screen-writers, or any given aspiration to writing narrative, given your experience? (as a sort of guidance) Once again, thank you both very much. Greetings from Bolivia.
@JungToLiveBy
@JungToLiveBy Жыл бұрын
Hi @carlosrollano2641, thank you so much for your very encouraging comment. Regarding screenwriting, I'd suggest that you try 'Method Writing' - that is, fully engage with the characters and their experiences. This will generate a natural, narrative, that reflects a true relationship to the depths of the human condition. Its also an opportunity to experience the 'ancestral wisdom' latent in the genome, that anticipates our lifespan development, its problems, and its solutions. I'd also suggest that you don't get put off by people on writing courses, who think in limiting terms, like a 'three act play' or 'one page a minute'. Good stories tell themselves, and the writer is the medium for the stiry that already exists, within themself. I'de also suggest thinking bout collaboirating with an artist who could illustrate some of your characters, or design a 'cover' image for your project. Then, think about music, music animates the soul and conveys emotion, profoundly. With a powerful script, strong illustrations, and souklful music, you will have a very effective project. Kindest Regards, Steve

Nice video. I come from a fairly conservative environment. Or one that was that way not that long ago. When mother was young, long before feminism hit public (sub)consciousness here, women had to work in and around the house, all day, every day. From 6 am until the Sun is gone. You weren't a mere complement to a man, as the red pill types like to assume women have always been. Unless you think men consider raw food and living in their own shit a small inconvenience. I think the perks of modern technology have displaced women from their historical niche. There's a magic box for everything now. This 'be a white knight to my wet lettuce' thing would never have been a culture wide adaptation in any optimally functioning society. So there's pressure from within to do something(the only avenue being competition with men), but there's also pressure be a toxic muppet and follow the path of least resistence, for all the reasons you describe here. So they're stuck between a rock and a hard place. Perhaps that makes resisting the catabolism more difficult on their part?

@JungToLiveBy
@JungToLiveBy 8 ай бұрын
Hi @originalpastaman5470, we have a video on the channel that directly addresses 'Self Doubt'. As you've posted here on the 'Rebirth of The Masculine' JTLB Video, I'd suggest that you follow on through the videos about Complexes and Archetypes too. Self doubt has a lot to do with how we have configured our Self-Concept, through our 'Personal Myth' and the complexes that have gathered around our timeline. Thinking (Cognition) isn't the solution to itself: it too easily collapses into a self-sustaining loop. The solution to wrong thinking, isn't right thinking, its 'right feeling'. People who are happy, content and adapted, 'feel' right. Feeling self-doubt, usually has to do with a misunderstanding, through being 'un'-conscious, of our natural instincts to adapt to our present stage of lifespan development. Then, cognition ruminates on what it doesn't know, or understand, and generates virtual fantasies to occupy itself, to the distraction away from living in the moment, toward a future we can achieve. Kindest Regards, Steve 🙏

I wasn’t confirmed by my own father, something I always felt, and I resolved, that one day, if I had a Son, of my own, then I’d pass on the dream-baptism to him, in true spirit of that dream-revelation, when he would be old enough to feel it’s meaning. On the night of his birth, it was a full Moon. We didn’t know if we’d have a Son or a Daughter, I remember going outside the house, during Pauline’s labour, looking up at the Moon, and promising that if it were a Son, then I would, in remembrance of that ‘Baptism-in-Green’ give that, in the name of Deo Viridios, to our Son. Hi @raab8647, thanks for your comment, Yes, anything that affects Ego-strength, can constellate complexes. Viral infections, fevers, fatigue (acute or chronic) any kind of physical illness, psychological stress, social pressure, and any interaction between these. Essentially, these constellate 'states' that can persist with respect to the complexes associated with those states, so that a given complex can operate outside of the conditions under which it formed, or, replicate a similar state (perseveration) when the causal conditions have passed. This was observed by Pierre Janet and others, and at the time was given such terms as neurasthenia or sometimes psychasthenia. There are other terms. Kindest Regards, Steve

Hi again, @Josh-dm8qi. I was born and lived in Everton, in Liverpool, so followed my father in his support for that soccer team. I lost interest when I hit 14 yrs of age, but in 2019, my Film Production Company was the Match-Ball Sponsor, at Everton's Home Ground, Goodison Park, for the first home game of the 'Covid' season, and it was nice to walk out onto the pitch with Pauline, and get photographed and videoed with the team, and to be presented with the match-ball (the ball used in the game) at a formal dinner after the match, which Everton won. I'm not a supporter as such of soccer, but I do have contacts will several clubs, after being involved in a film project (stalled temporarily because of COVID) called 'WAGS & Witches'.
