Your video are very important for the environment because you are teaching thousands of people to do the same as you do. At the end, this has a HUGE impact, think about it its pretty crazy. Tuck is also teaching us to be smart, loyal, opportunist, and how to manipulate humans with cuteness for organic food.

There's a video in his archives list somewhere, showing what his backyard looked like before he turned it into a food forest. There was one little circle garden that the previous owners had in the huge back yard of grass/lawn.

Even after 20 yrs of gardening and following your channel from your back to eden days 5-6 yrs ago I need to remember it all doesn't happen all over night. The garden evolves. I never used to have so many flowers, but now I love my annual flowers in my beds. And even now I learn that to avoid my plants being decimated by pests in the spring to get those cold hardy blooms in early. Lessons lessons ... the garden never ceases to teach.

We live in North Carolina and our weather/zone is similar. So many times I have had questions about my ‘food forest’ and find the answers on your channel. So, so many times. The enthusiasm you have for gardening, it is inspiring, gets me motivated. I love the intro to your videos and oh my goodness, Tuck is adorable. I truly appreciate you, the time you spend on videos, trial, error and the way you come across, it helps, tremendously. Sometimes I think it must be exhausting to put out so much content with such a great passion for the garden, but you have excelled every time. 😊

I totally agree. I like to think of it as puttering through each year and every year adding one new thing. No pressure, just the joy of creating. As the years pass, the garden takes form and grows into something amazing, which James has accomplished. All Gardeners know that everything is a learning experience. Every year is different and outcomes as well. Most importantly, we all have a different palette to work with, so to speak, sun, shade, soil, climate, food preferences, and our own physical abilities to name few. No two gardens are ever alike, nor should they be. Just start from wherever you are, and see where you can "grow" Love and Gardening 💖💚

You're so good at just getting me going. Morning energy for gardening is a slow acceleration 😊. Also, I have learned a great deal from you, starting a food forest from bare lawn. Though I'd truly underestimated how depleted my little patch was. It’s very useful to see the extent that such effort can reach. You're a good guy. I wish you were one of my sons 😊.

Hi James, I am a newish gardener from North Texas. I just started gardening about three years ago. I have learned so much about how to garden here in hot Texas. And this year my garden has blown me away with the amount of delicious food I've been harvesting and preserving. But my husband and I have recently started thinking about re-locating to Pennsylvania to be closer to our daughter who lives in NYC. I am so excited about moving, but the one big thing I will miss is my garden that I have worked so hard to establish. Watching your channel and seeing how much success you've had in New Jersey is giving me hope for relocating to Pennsylvania. I think the growing zones are the same or similar. So thanks for all the encouragement you give us and for all you do!

I added raspberry, blackberry, and blueberry plants to my garden this year (using 1 year old dormant plants) and I'd love guidance on when/how to prune and things about best care etc. And I'd also love if you could do a video about the uses of surround kaolin clay. I am trying it this year on my zucchini and cucumber plants as we get SO many squash vine borers and tomato beetles and I'm just tired of losing all my plants/not getting a good harvest.
