You've made me smile, thumbs up for the well mannered dog, (boo hiss for his careless human!), and I look forward to seeing how you prepare a quality lawn, (you're going to need a mower with a roller!) If you thin a ball into a neighbours window, please upload the vid. Keep up the good work.

Good idea James I have had one in the garden for years ,if you get a cylinder mower you can cut the grass down to around 4 mill ,keep feeding and fertilising it ,you can then putt on it too .Was going to drain the pond and fill it with sand at one point ,but that may be taking things too far .If you read up on grasses and golf greens its amazing what you can do yourself .

Hello James, I have 17 acres in Indiana & I have marked out in 10 yard increments from the green to the end of my driveway & it measures out at 155 yards. Still can't chip very well but your Saturday tips are helping a lot. When I cut the green I do it as low as the mower will go then I raise the wheels cut 2 times around then raise the wheels again for a little higher rough. I can also launch balls out in the hay field & when my wife walks the dogs she brings me back a few golf eggs along with the chicken eggs. In other words I can practice when ever I want. Stay safe over there James.

From Oz, we might be in lockdown soon too, a few months ago my wife decided to have synthetic lawn put in a decent sized part of our back yard, our son said well why don't make it a putting and chipping green and area, so we did, roughly a 10 meter X 3.5 meter putting green professionally laid with breaks and 2 holes and a good area to chip from, I'm kinda happy she went ahead and spent the money to do it now :) The original reason was to give our grandsons a year round nice clean non muddy etc play area, we're all winners now. Good chipping mate :)

Good work James. I have got to cut the lawn this afternoon. I think I will put a couple of flags (sticks with rags attached) around the garden. I reckon I will skip the holes as I don't think my lawn will have the same pure roll quality that yours is clearly going to have when you have spent a few months with a roller out there! I look forward to seeing you perfect that 15 yard shot. I have a 22yard shard in my garden and I love it when I come across one on the golf course as I know exactly what to do with that one.
