Exposing How New Golf Clubs Are WAY TOO EXPENSIVE - Don't Be FOOLED!

I was very unwell a couple of years ago, got out of hospital after a three months with a month in ICU. I could barely walk but had a chance to buy a set of Big Bertha irons for twenty quid, then from charity shops added a nice Taylor Made 3 wood from a charity shop for 5 quid, a Ping G2 driver for free, Hippo Houdini rescue wood for 2.50. Splashed out on a Ping putter and put a new grip on 50 quid. Decided I ddn't like it and got a Mizuno mallet for a fiver. Added a Big Bertha 5 wood for a quid. It all gave me something to aim for and I had my first full round and I got it in last year with a nice Bridgestone stand bag for a fiver.! Golf doesn't have to be expensive but I suppose it depends on your peers

I love your comments about cheaper second hand clubs and more people playing golf. Golf is so good for your mental health. It was profound how good it was coming back to play golf after lockdown. I appreciate the game even more now than ever as I'm sure many out there do too.

Honestly James. You could probably take a broom stick and a putter out to the course and have a decent round. This series is my favorite because us duffers realize that we don't need to spend alot of money to have fun on the course. We can duff the affordable used clubs as easily as we can duff the latest and greatest.(expensive). Been getting some February rounds in here in Missouri and I'm getting a little better everytime out. Another great video sir. Enjoy the rest of your day.

I'm still using an old set of TM Burner Plus irons and an M2 driver. However my putter is even older and is a Wilson Harmonised. I'm no pro but I do know how far each club normally goes with the occasional pure strike catching me out. I'd love the Cleaveland Huntington putter however I'm probably not going to get into the draw as I'm in Australia. Love this series by the way.😊

Rule 13.1d (the DJ rule ;-)) states there is no penalty for accidentally moving your ball on the putting green, you just replace it and carry on.

Just with the initial look you have some old clubs but some very good clubs. That cobra King driver was a very good club back in the day, your long irons are also good with one looking like a driving iron type, and you have some other good to decent irons. If they gave you a decent 56, you are good to go. Breaking par today because of adrenaline of a weird, mixed set. Cheers

I have a set of Ping i3 blades, Cleveland VAS and some other random clubs I couldn't afford as a kid. Fun to take out some old gems and play occasionally 🤙

I would like to see some episodes of buying a full set, play some courses and sell them back. As most travelers don’t want to have their clubs shipped, and rental clubs are pricey, this may be a better solution. When you mentioned Edinburgh I thought of people wanting to play at St Andrew’s or other regional courses. Which occurred for me as I was traveling around but only wanted to play a couple of courses in Scotland.

I just bought the last set I will ever own. Ping G425, I got the driver, 3 hybrid, 5-9 and 3 wedges. I also splurged and bought the ChipR. I added an Odyssey 7 putter. I am going for the first time today to the driving range. Finally a day warm enough.

I was using a 30+ yr old set before this. Wilson X/31 Pro. Forged set from the early 90's. They are still in fantastic condition after all those years.

Yep the good old AP2 are buttery soft. I still use the original 710, but am currently looking at the new T350. My poor old body cant swing hard any more.
