Highspeed video from Titleist shows the ball is off the tee before the tee even comes in contact with the driver. There is no way a tee has any influence over the ball or the strike. Pure snake oil.
@bruceb5434 жыл бұрын
If what you said is true there would be no difference from one tee to another. Obviously the test says otherwise.
@reiko574 жыл бұрын
@@bruceb543 doubt it, only 20 shots, the ball itself could cause that type of dispersion, also it was in a simulator which is not perfect, there are too many variables for anyone to just accept it as scientific fact off of this one video.

perhaps the trailing part of the 45 degree tee helps to generate more spin by "flicking" the ball in combination with the driver head.

I've converted to the pink castle tees a while back.. works for me, very consistent drives and the ball is always easily at the right height..
@mychaljw4 жыл бұрын
I use the 3.25 martini tees. They have a larger spot at the top so it's dead easy to tee up a ball. You can also give them a bit of lean.. not quite 45 degrees, maybe half that, but still the ball will stay teed up. Also, I've not broken one yet. Used the same two tees (a 3.25 for driver and a shorter one for irons off the tee) for 11 rounds and 2-3 range sessions.
@carpykeith4 жыл бұрын
That run of the last 5 drives, you looked very consistent! The hard work must be paying off!

I use the Martini Tee peg and I am amazed how slanted I can get it. But I have always faced it the other way. I am going to try and face it the like those 45 degrees pegs you have. However, The Martini Pegs have a huge holder so they are much easier to use. Thank you amigo!
@Scorpic134 жыл бұрын
I'd like to see a test with the tee turned the opposite direction... Making the leading edge of the driver sort of knocking the tee away from the ball so when you hit the ball there is nothing in contact with it. If that even works, the club head speed might just be to great so the time the club hits the tee to the moment it hits the ball is negligible. Thanks for great videos!
@davidhall98514 жыл бұрын
James with the greatest respect, and accepting I have not read the product description. Surely as the driver starts to compress the ball the speed would dissipate as the tee is driven into the ground. Would it not?
@joebradley73174 жыл бұрын
I bought about a 40 year old golf bag with clubs @ a yard sale & found a couple of weird looking tees in the pocket. The 45 degree angle where you tee the ball up on was about as big as your baby finger tip. Easy to tee the ball up once you get the angle right.

I have recently up taken a offer by Today's Golfer magazine and will be trying the new OceanTee Bamboo tees next week. I like the concept. But would you not have to line the tee up as well as your shot so you aren’t hitting the tee at an angle
@keithmoody92744 жыл бұрын
This is just gimmick tee like the brush and the pronged tees. No matter what a standard tee will never have any effect on the ball. Pick the tee that makes you confident that the ball is in the best path for your swing. Use the tee you like. Also how would the 45 be for people who like to tee up iron shots?
@larsmenken26794 жыл бұрын
Is there a higher risk to scratch your driver? You hit an ordinary tee at a 90 degree angle so it just gives away, this one applies half of its resistance horizontally against your club face. Especially in hard ground.

Rugby ball is a different shape to a golf ball , they are placed on vertical tees , ball just angled forward..
@seanscanlon90674 жыл бұрын
Why not design it with a "kink" in it, as in the pointed end that goes into the ground is straight/vertical but then the rest of the tee that sticks out of the ground slants towards you at the 45 degree angle? You could even have a little horizontal "step" that you push down on when inserting the tee into the ground, between the vertical and diagonal parts.

Looks like the tee goes farther than the ball. You'd lose at least 2 or 3 of these per round. Add that to the fastidious set up and it's an obvious "why would you bother" kinda situation.
@markhilton49204 жыл бұрын
Na not for me , imagine pushing them into a rock hard tee on the angle when you need serious pressure to push a standard tee straight down
@djcardwellai3 жыл бұрын
What matters most is the angle you stick the tee in the ground. If you want to play a draw, the tee should be tilting left, right for a fade. If you want the ball to balloon up into the air, the tee should lean towards you. For less spin lower bullets, the tee should lean away from you. It would be silly to think that friction hitting into a tee doesn't change anything; therefore, I'm afraid I entirely have to disagree with this video.

i dont use tees since i dont even own a driver, but you're not contacting the tee before the ball with a regular tee so it shouldn't matter or make any difference. i'd trust it if it took a few hundred shots with a machine driver, but a human is too inconsistent to draw any kind of conclusion for another's game, maybe its more like a placebo? not sure but i wouldn't count on the tees of all things to improve your game in any meaningful way.
@oldprogolf72924 жыл бұрын
Significantly more spin with the new tee giving better dispersion. I am sure this is you, not the tee as you had a degree more dynamic loft. If you fall back as you swing, you are likely to hit the ball too much on the up, reducing backspin too much and giving a poor result as happened in one shot with the wooden tee.
