James, absolutely brilliant I have some industrial units and couldn’t stop smiling throughout this video. I have had exactly the same conversations with my tenants.

You need an. Actual business university. One that employs students at low starter wages and they work for your businesses and then study your materials in their off times. That way you can grow management for your businesses. They learn your way and eliminate their bad habits as they go through your program.

How do you decide which directions to diversify? Hotels, commercial property, party pieces, teddy tastic, rossie retail/factory, marsh farm, day care etc.. how much do you rely on staff to make acquisitions decisions? People run businesses, you can only do so much yourself, so you must be relying on ‘people’ who you trust to run these businesses.. do you give them a share? How do you keep them dedicated to perform for the business?

I do all the buying, that’s mainly my job. I move people from existing companies into the new ones. So they can grow. But it’s a process of 20 years. We use board meetings and monthly management accounts to track progress. We only diversify to allow for vertical integration. All of our companies are customer of each other or support each other in some way.

Regarding the indoor dinosaur trail - those ceilings look very high. Are you concerned about your heating costs?
@ShapeyFiend Жыл бұрын
People are just passing through exhibits so you probably only need to have it at 16 degrees. It's different if people are sitting in a space. There are sheds like this people work in year round with little heating, certainly within the British Isles anyway.

Hi James, How much time do you spend looking at competitors and understanding where they are making the gains to see if you can incorporate it into you businesses?

James - uiu always talk about being a “commercially profitable enterprise”. What’s the difference between that a “profitable enterprise”? I don’t mean the question to be obtuse - just keen to understand the difference
@JamesSinclairEntrepreneur Жыл бұрын
I think commercial means it’s not a profitable job. To work without you, you need some scale to afford good people. When you sell a business, which should be the discipline you aspire to, no one wants to pay good money for a profitable enterprise, they want something bigger…. Hence commercial!

@@JamesSinclairEntrepreneurand you will! You’re young, only 37 I believe. That’s plenty of time. And thanks for all you do. Since discovering you a few weeks ago my business has changed so much. I enjoy your content, but your racking up enormous maintenance debt by not taking care of these properties. I mean the first property is seriously run down and in desperate need of some TLC. Might not be so profitable in the end… 🤷🏻♂️
