great advice. I tried bending my hanger back by hand and got it straight, but it snapped a couple rides later

Hi James, a few weeks ago I did a Dell Boy at a junction on my 2 week old £5,500 Giant Revolt Pro 0, but it was minimal, although I'm waiting for my Park Tool to arrive tomorrow. Question, how many times would you recommend straightening before replacing it

Good video! I totally just said fuck it and bought a new NorthShoreBillet hanger, might as well have a pimped out hanger lol.

Bought a new hanger. It’s a Union brand, GH-192 for my CAAD8. I still need to align it? I thought i just need to put the screws in, put the rd and wheel back in, adjust the limit and b screws and indexing if necessary.

I broke one of those recently and it took about four weeks for the shop to find one

just like promises, derailleur hangers are made to be broken (for the protection of the frame of course) .. that's all

Does every geared bicycle have derailleur hanger? I don't see any like that on my bicycle

This video was great, I’m in need of this exact fix on my MTB... from your description I suspect the horizontal alignment is off. Ordering the tool now, thanks James!

Nice, let me know how it turns out.

@@Jamesthebikeguy I finally got the tool and definitely had some adjustments to align my hanger. Now I’m able to shift up and down the whole cassette without any weird skipping or rubbing! Huge thanks man, I was really discouraged about doing my own work. Felt like I couldnt even index my gears right!

This is disgusting. I do not know the reason for these prices. It is just a small piece of aluminum that does not even take time to manufacture. Also, companies are deliberately making complex designs so that one is not made manually and forcing people to buy one at an expensive price in exchange for a piece that did not cost The company is more than one dollar

right, it is expenaive labor and parts costs .... i know

Thanks for this. When I reattach my derailleur to the hanger, it pivots around the mount screw and it seems there are different angles on the Y axis that I can mount it at. At this point I am unsure of how to remount the XT derailleur onto the hanger at the correct angle.

I'll give this a thumbs up just for you saying "derailer" like a proper person without an extra "eeuu" near the end. Hearing people say "derailleeuur" really grinds my gears for some reason!

My front disk brake grabs real good my back not so much. I've cleaned it with alcohol and no improvement. How do I get my back brake to grab better?

tainted pads, may need to clean or replace the pads ... try spraying the rotor and pads with a solution of dishwashing soap and water

Great vid...for future vid how about a conversion from 2×8 to a 1×12 Drivetrain. What to consider and pro/cons of the change.
@germaincousineau86083 жыл бұрын
1x is easier because you don’t have to think about choosing between the front chainrings. The only cons is cassette cogs usually have bigger jump(11-13-15 etc) For a recreational rider like me,you get used to it. I hope it helps. 😉
