The relationships in this show are so incredibly complex and detailed. Jimmy and Kim, Jimmy and Chuck, even Jimmy and Howard is a fascinating relationship. The nuance and depth to each character and the way their motivations become more and more apparent, the better they are to watch interacting together.

Interesting thing. Even though this is a prequel, they can't do anything about actors aging. So there is an unspoken agreement between the viewers and the directors, that we ignore that MIke looks 5 years older than he did at the end of BB. Personally it never bothered me, but I see how such a thing annoyed some people. But the interesting part is that Saul's actor was a bit rounder and more balding for BB. For this show, he had lost weight for another role, and he has a full head of hair, instead of a comb over. So it worked out really really well, that the main character of the prequel, actually looks younger.

The “filmmaking” is such a clear elevation. Not to say Breaking Bad was any less, it was excellent, but the story telling within that show was such an element. I wouldn't call it a spoiler, but I think one of the themes is that in BB, Walter starts off as one person and becomes another (Heisenberg). "GTA SIDE MISSION" hahahaha dude that's totally why this felt familiar. It really feels like a silly GTA mission storyline and characters. This storyline is my least favorite of Better Call Saul. Thankfully the show moves on and gets a lot better but this 1st season slows down quick. Thankfully, it's still Gould and Gilligan. They are masters and they make it work well enough in it's worst episodes. I wish this first season was better because a lot of my friends fell off and missed a terrific show.
