I love that Hank starts the show portrayed as a kinda goofy character, but as you watch, you realise he covers up that incredible detective mind with a facade of a clown to catch people off guard, including Gus of all people, when he took the cup with his prints. It’s just crazy that after 5 seasons, we see that facade finally crack, and just the full on brutal detective appears, and yet by no means is it shocking.

Nobody else could play Jesse. Aaron Paul is SO Jesse that he acted the character into plot armored status. My favorite anecdote for BB is the fact that originally Emelio was going to shoot and kill Jesse in the desert when Walt gasses them. I watched Breaking Bad as new episodes premiered each Sunday on AMC, and how painful it was that I had to wait almost an entire year between the episodes Gliding Over All and Blood Money. The flash forward at the beginning of Blood Money was one of my favorite scenes in the entire series because of how much it screwed with your mind. All we knew up to that point is that Hank had found the book, so watching that scene really hammered home the point that something terrible has occurred but we didn’t know exactly what just yet. I just sat there thinking “what in god’s name has happened and how are we gonna get to this point?” The next 8 episodes are arguably the greatest in television history, it took the viewers on a ride that I won’t ever forget.

@dariodelvoije Жыл бұрын
@@andrewstephens5885 All the colors in breaking bad mean something. All the outfits we see our characters wear have a special meaning. Khaki/beige resembles wealth/rich and neutral/bland. A few other examples: Black means death, power, corruption and evil (Jane almost always wears black foreshadowing her death and troubling drug abuse) Pink means naive, innocence and tragedy. (pink teddybear, innocent people died in that plane crash tragedy. Holly wears pink a lot. Jessys last name is PINKman) Green means money, greed and growth. (Holly's room is painted in green, because she'll be swimming in cash her entire life. Walt wears green a lot when he decides things out of greed. It was an excruciating wait for this episode back in 2012-2013, but man, it was so worth it. As far as the gap between episodes, AMC was a big fan of splitting seasons in half around this time period. They did it a number of times with The Walking Dead in addition to this season of Breaking Bad. I think the main reason for it was basically being able to get the viewership numbers of two season premieres and two season finales, even though they would only technically group those episodes into one season. The things networks would do before the breakthroughs in streaming was something else...

Season 5 B is such a ride. This really is the Hank season. Hank really has grown through the show. Started out as a kinda loud, fake-macho, shit talking bad ass. And through the show he went through many hardships, suffered from anxiety and ptsd, bounced back stronger, and showed that he has what it takes. He became more likable, more geniuene, but a bit more obsessed. The acting in the confrontation scene is epic. Hank learns about the cancer, and while his mouth says one thing, his eyes look shocked and sad. Such masterclass of acting. And like Mike's actor, Hank has been in so many shows, playing a cops and such in the background. And in this show they really gave him the spotlight and let him act. I wonder how many great actors are hidden in the background, and just need the spotlight to shine.

What I love about this episode is that, you think the writers would play out the "he knows that I know that he knows" and etc for a few episodes, and then they just blow it up in the garage and get that part out of the way! Only 7 episodes left, no time to dilly dally! Without spoiling anything, it's a huge part of Walter's character study to know that, even though he threatened Hank, in Walter's eyes, Hank still is family, and thus off limits to certain solutions that he would take with Gale or Gus..
