Saw him in concert, unbelievable. Years ago, but was a crazy fun show. Recently saw a vid of Jamey walking off stage, dragging himself through the gravel, walked up to a WW2 veteran. Told him thanks for his service. Jamey Johnson doing that takes him to another level for me. Already loved his music, but him doing that shows me what kind of man he is.

Stopped in a bar in Manchester Tn. Vi's Lounge in 1988. I met Vi herself. Man she was a hoot. She was already 80 by this time. Legendary I found out many years after the fact. Turns out the bartender was dating Vi. He was a man in his 40's that you could fry a dozen eggs with the grease in his slicked back hair. I was very broke and Vi and her boy friend needed some work done around the bar for which I accepted for $20 dollars and drinks. Anyway after I finished the job the bartender gave me a dollar and ask me to go play some music on the juke box that he and Ole Vi. Could dance too. You could pick 3 or 4 songs for a dollar and one of the songs I picked was "The Ride" Turns out the bartender had did time in prison With none other than David Allan Coe.

did anyone else hear the guy in the crowd yell " Allan Jackson" at the first line jamey sings? its people like that , that make it hard for me to be around people to often. he is that guy that probably thinks that billy joe shaver is singing that big and rich song about a train in georgia, or that waylon jennings wrote so many hits on that outlaw record. i still cant get over that hes not around. I lost my mind later that day and I found this song before I found my feet. Ya see hank It was like talkin to an old friend. I needed that, oh and sorry about the red carpet i tried hard to keep it clean. I was on my way home, i had walked 30 miles from devry to family video on a brisk walk hoping to see a girl bout my age in Irving or irvine. Took me 10hrs to get there I was told she's at school (devry) I said sh😅t 30 miles to go and now the suns up. I have been on the wrong pills for the past twenty years and now I can remember it raining on hanks beautiful Cadillac, while he said don't touch it. Don't touch it. The dash was impeccable I know passion when i see it. I know a little about radios (i component level repaired them in the army). I have a phd in love. The truth is hank was moved by my take on audio, sat down with david allen coe and made a song of it. Ya see, hank, you and david make sweet sounds of hell and high water. Give me a schematic i can show you where the sweet went sour. I'm sitting on a schematic to filter out emp for radios. If we catch emp on an unprepared infrastructure we will be rubbing stones together trying to make a dime. I can't turn a head. I have a simple schematic to put fear to sleep for another go around. My name is Mike wintermute II veteran and radio enthusiast pleased to make your acquaintance hank, and david allen coe. Now kindly get somebody here cause electro-magnetic pulse is real and will reduce our great country to round rocks with holes in em for currency without the use of these key circiuts wired in. Oh and you make a fine song, i cried when I heard the live version. I have always been able to get the very essence of a person by pointing my question, and not taking anything for granted. I learnt this trait in the school of hard knocks (army) with a rocky truth that put me on the hot-seat a time or two. Truth is we all have a bit of country goin on, just takes the right time and place to remember. Woulda been cooler to sing a response but the dog ate my homework, And I have been working on my friendship base for twenty years. Know your audience, is the best rule for singin songin. And if they got a pulse or not in some cases i imagine, you both have a wide variety of great songs to keep you humm-dingin for many years a.d.
