My father was very much old school country! The likes of Merle Haggard, George Jones well you get it. I also love that music. He was never much about high praise for newer artist. When I found Jamey Johnson’s music and started listening to it I knew he would like it. I took it over there and showed him and for the first time he sat back in his chair and said there you go John that’s country the way it should be.

This is a great story. I met Jamey right after he bought Old Maple and it has truly been around the World. He just took my son Hunter, on a 4 day run with Cody Jinks, Charlie Daniels, Marshall Tucker Band, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Jamey has been a dear friend for over 20 years and is one of a kind. He is a Man of his word, that's hard to find these days.

@@williamseurkamp2240 The Martins are no more expensive than a Gibson EJ-200: the same model as Jamey's Epiphone. I have several cheap guitars that will astound you with their tone, but I still want a Martin D-28, a Martin D-35, a Martin 000-15M, a Gibson J-45, and a Gibson Songwriter... all rather expensive guitars, but have tone that sounds like a good flat-top acoustic guitar should. If Epiphone (or anyone else, for that matter) made models that sounded, and played, like these iconic guitars from Martin & Gibson; then I would gladly spend a lot less money for those.

Fellow marine here... Jamey, I've listened to your stuff since before 10'. I joined in 08'. Got the last of the good boot camp before everything got messed up. We trained hard for Afghan. Things were crazy then. When I got out I wasn't alright and hit bars n women hard. God bless them all because naughty girls keep gnarly men able bodied and participants in today's infrastructure. But when I heard high cost for the first time brother, it stopped my heart and soul. It was as if you wrote that for me. I know many good Ole boys n gals feel this way. Anyways man, I had no idea until now that your a marine. As if you weren't already cool enough. Had to look you up. 0341 motor man. Dude a straight grunt. Just want to say bro thank you. The brotherhood and the history of marine corps is a bad ass deal. You'll never see this but if you do, I'm in michigan and it'd be cool to sip a whiskey with you some time and swap a green weenie story or two. Till then man, don't ever change. I never have either. It's a problem for some but not for me. Semper fi brother🇺🇸

When i was about 10 yrs old, everytime we went to the mall, my family knew where to find me, at the music & everytime i would play this black Westone spectrum lx & after about 6 months or more of pkaying that guitar, my Father purchased it for me & that became my baby! Again my Father surprized me with a Takamine accoustic electric satin finished G series though I Took my guitars to my Fathers house for safe keeping & do to fraud from another family member violating every aspect of my Father's will, i lost everything that meant anything to me! Seeing this video was more then heartfelt!!!! The memories!!!! Reminds me that, I need a new Guitar! Wish i coukd find a mint Westy? Im at work now seconds until my break is up....

I have 2 Guitars and love them, even tho I can't Play A Lick But it's my Dogs that do the Heavy Lifting and keep me focused on the nights when Old Friends and Old Enemies come to Visit....Invited Or Not...Mostly NOT & those are the times when my Dogs step Up and Step In to make sure I'm Calm & Safe. there are No Words that can accurately describe what they do for me.
