well the thing is that they were Different games. Battleborn was more a MOBA with more of a focus on PVE while Overwatch is pure PVP...but a lot of people didn't realize that Plus it just kinda sucks how a game with a LOT more content was steamrolled by one with less

the overwatch marketing was way too fucking strong, it was suicide to even try to compete with them in any form. paladins only got by because it was literally like "hey we're overwatch except you dont have to pay" so all the bitter poor people who wanted overwatch to be free flocked to them. Its rather disgusting how hype and preconceived notions of a game sell the game more than its actual content

Dapper Changeling Randy is a complete scumbag of a CEO, who tried to use fan made porn (which, if I were to guess, was probably used without permission) in a last ditch and desperate attempt to sell a year old dead game that barely anyone gives a single solitary fuck about. Yoko Taro is a quirky japanese game director who makes wierd and unconventional games for a niche crowd, who encouraged fans to compile art (SFW and NSFW) of his new game's main character, and share it to him, so he could share them himself. And this was two months before Automata was even released. So yeah, it's because Randy is a POS.

I've mentioned on their subreddit that for every "Okay-ish" to "Good" TT game they play (Like Wolf Among Us, TT Batman, TWD S1, etc), they have to play two of the bad ones (TWD past Season 1, MC Story Mode, Iron From Ice, etc).

Wish people wouldn't talk so much shit about Pre-Sequel. It had some issues, but made some spectacular improvements over 2 like Cyro vs slag, far better designed skill trees, and playable characters actually having voices outside of combat.

I agree. They did a good amount of improvements that were needed from the 2nd game. Not only was Cryo way better than Slag, vendors sold better loot, Grinding is a decent way to get better loot, and playable characters are way better to play as than the original 4 in BL2. Even the hate oxygen tanks got, I thought was really fun to master even if the amount you get at first is a bit annoying to keep track of. If I had to choose to play between BL2 and Pre-Sequel I would always go Pre-Sequel just cause Athena is so much fun to play as.

The problem with the pre sequel was the fact you had good characters with interesting gameplay on repetitive and boring maps. The saving grace was the claptastic voyage showing how good the game could be. Not to mention enemy variety was extremely limited and when variation was a thing the game was almost over. It was also stupidly annoying how the "good" loot chest needed moonstones to unlock. Also how bosses didn't respawn at launch for loot farming sucked. It had way better gameplay advances, (except the extra gun slot unlocks took way to long) but environment and level downgrades. Also that stupid laser was just way to annoying, and if you wanted it to stop you basically have to go through about 70% of the story.

I called it from before the game even came out. I remember watching the trailer for the game with "My tears are becoming a sea" by M83; it was beautiful, with that archer girl running from something, falling down, and the mechanical butler guy picking her up. It was beautiful.... until they stopped walking and you saw the clear rip-off of the Heavy Weapons Guy from TF2. I still remember my heart dropping into my gut, to mix with the bile, as I realized that one beautiful moment was not only ruined forever, but that I was a fool to experience it in the first place. It's like watching your favorite GoT character get offed, and not in a good way, but in a shitty and pathetic way. Once I realized what this game was going to amount to, I knew it's days were numbered from the start.

@@smgeezus7186 Not really, just burned on so many IPs that had promise, but ended up falling short because the developers couldn't back the premise with substance. You see it happen enough times, you inevitably start seeing the pattern for what it is, and then you can see things that haven't flopped yet trend towards potentially doing so. That I essentially called GoT before the last season or two was unfortunately a bad case of me being right before it was obvious. Had I known then what I know now about the producers of that IP, I could've called it much earlier.
