I loved this so much! Rumba is a tricky dance for the celebs but for jamie to pull this out the bag on week 2 was brilliant. ❤

I adore this so much, best to last. He’s got a beautiful aura about him, when they asked how he felt about the comments from the judges ,was heartwarming, wasn’t cocky so humble. Love Jamie I’d love to see him with the cup ❤ he’s got my vote. Come on Jay ❤❤❤ that partner of his is lucky 🍀 I wouldn’t complain dancing with Jamie 😅 he’s fit 🔥

The choreography this week really blew me away this was again amazing. How cruel to give him a Rumba on week 2 but he handled it so well and we couldn't have asked for anything more than that. 7/10

Darn, he's so good! A Viennese Waltz then a Rumba? They're really pushing him! And he did so dang well! They should have given him more to do in the choreography. When he did more in the second half of the dance, it was so much greater! He should have gotten 8s. I'm surprised Shirley didn't given him an 8.

score - *7* I was impressed with what I saw in training and now I see why, the cucaracha's were great, so sensual and stunning lines. Michelle's Argentine section was to die for aswell! Especially because it's always harder for a male to stand out in Rumba I thought Jamie did a really good job selling the performance and a great job with the Rumba walk and footwork all the way through
@VincornelisАй бұрын
Not Craig saying he was too focused on technique and lost the storytelling. He's doing the most technically challenging dance for a male in week 2. What do you expect him to focus on?
@HeartCoilsАй бұрын
I thought there was loads of storytelling! I felt the passion! I wonder if the outfits distracted Craig from the ‘storytelling’ - they don’t match the vibe of the dance at all

This was such an incredible rumba, I was so impressed with Jamie - particularly considering it’s only Week 2!! I felt the connection between him and Michelle, I think they created a lot of sensuality in their routine. However, I really feel like the costumes let them down - it would have been so much better in more traditional rumba outfits. Why would you dance a rumba in jeans, it just doesn’t make sense to me what the costume designers were going for. It’s such a shame, I think it spoils the effect. But the performance itself was great - I feel like sometimes male rumbas are lacking but this definitely was a great effort.

Craig are you kidding me? Did you accidentally put the wrong sugar in your coffee this morning 😤 the storytelling was all, there! ✨ connection WASNT LOST. Viennese Waltz then a Rumba is really pushy! But he’s so good at it all! 💌 Craig was very harsh tonight 😡 underscored. Especially as he won the Christmas special 🤍

Great potential in Jamie, he was trying hard. Agree with Craig that he forgot the performance side though. And god knows what these outfits were about as well, a Rumba in jeans?! Why?!

What on earth does the Rumba and Bill Withers classic 'Ain't No Sunshine' had to do with those 90s pop/R&B costumes?!! I thought they were going to be dancing the first couple's choice of the series at the start of the show. The clothing was a massive distraction; it didn't fit the style of dance or music and there was no obvious story to make sense of it. The wardrobe dept. really threw them under the bus.

Well, my two least favourite dances are the rumba and the cha cha so I just want to say thank you to Jamie and Michelle, and JB and Amy, for blowing me away with their performances of those dances this week, For me, whoever choreographed these routines struck exactly the right balance between adding a contemporary feel and keeping the character of the dance. I just love the dancing and could't care less about the scores but I'm not sure these dances were fully appreciated.
@durabelleАй бұрын
The choreographers for these dances would be Amy and Michelle I believe. They only use outside choreographers for the few specialty dances like the Charleston and Argentine tango.

This was lovely. Is the cheorgraphy the same as Oti and Kelvin's?
@rozietheophane1169Ай бұрын
I don't think it's the same choreo, as Kelvin and Oti's dance included more use of the floor and some more advanced tricks. But since this is week 2, this dance is still really impressive imo. It is the same music though.
@ABrown2003Ай бұрын
Is it just me or is it that whenever Craig comments, Motsi and Shirley keep trying to cut him off? They did that with Jamie's rumba and I think Chris McCausland as well. No offence to them, but all I can picture is Bruce Forsyth's spirit cutting over the judges, saying "I'm in charge! -- and I haven't said that for XX years - and my god does it feel good!".

Next is Jamie Borthwick and Michelle Tsiakkas dancing the Rumba. This dance felt very placed and not smooth enough for me, the style was something out of the Next Step, I think this dance was also very basic and Jamie's ability is so much greater I think Michelle needs to teach Jamie more advanced stuff, also I do get what Craig is saying about the emotion if the emotion isn't there then the dance isn't either, now of-course Jamie has a lot of fans and so he should he's great and they will protect and vote for him but for me considering he is an actor he should be able to draw from his acting ability and connect to people who are not know of him to get them to be fans of his but when I watched this all I saw was two people dancing I saw no story no emotion but that's just me, hay I am a fan but I need more emotion to connect to this dance but I have a feeling this pair are going to do well no matter what.
@charlotte241000Ай бұрын
I think the problem is with Jamie is that Michelle is such a skilled dancer it really shows that Jamie isn't the professional in the couple vito has the same problem so did Gradziano I don't think it's done on purpose but it is really telling at times
@emilyamber2432Ай бұрын
The dance was good for Week 2, however very disappointing to see the song, dance style (and seemingly much of the choreography…) lifted from Oti and Kelvin in 2019. And unfortunately it doesn’t fair so well in comparison.
@imogen6772Ай бұрын
Craig is being an arse this series and we are only two weeks in. I thought there was story telling and a definite connection. But when it comes to the rhumba, I will only pay attention to Shirley’s comments as she knows the most about it.

No doubt the armchair experts will shoot me down for this but I didn't see hardly any of the Rhumba stuff they talked about before hand.

Our scores: Me: 7 Diya: 7 Kelsey: 7 Owen: 7 28/40 Technically, this was really good. The expression through his hands and arms were great, lovely leg and hip action, good footwork. But, I agree with Craig that I didn’t feel any connection or chemistry between them. They don’t have to be all up in each other’s faces, but just something as subtle as eye contact would help a lot. I think he’s a brilliant dancer, with a lot to give.
