I’ve had tinnitus for 60 years when I had measles as a child. As they were saying you can tune out of it although it’s there 24/7. When I’m not feeling well it gets louder and that’s all I can hear. Constant buzzing.

I can't hear whatever high pitched noise they are playing over the ringing in my own ears, it is so very loud.

Is that the one that sounds a little bit like someone blowing in your ear? About the same frequency as a pulse? Thats what i get, especially when one side of my head is on the pillow or i put earphones in before music starts.

@@paulwalton1222Hi.Its a sound of your tinnitus that increases in volume that gets louder with physical movements of your jaw or head.I have 2 sounds in one ear and one of the sounds gets louder with head and neck movements and is in a rhythm like it is time with your pulse. It’s called somatic pulsate tinnitus.I yawn it gets louder, chewing food ,turning head side to side ,tilting head back .Some people get increase in volume with pressing on parts of head neck to .So if yours get louder with movements or pressing it’s somatic .Its a struggle isn’t it .

@elainerose2136 luckily mine isn't that bad. I only hear it with earphones in but not playing yet but also at night, not always when ear is on pillow and it stops me sleeping. I'm hoping it doesn't get worse or more common

Been living with it since 2.5 years ago, was given hearing aids to help counter it. Woke up in the middle of the night with a migraine and my ears buzzing. I was very depressed at first but have been getting over it recently. I felt like I was losing my hearing which made my anxiety worse worried I would go deaf in my early 30s. Only things that have helped me has been using sound therapy and constant backing sounds. I now don’t need the hearing aids (although I am technically a bit deaf) to block it out. I do miss silence though. When stressed or tired it comes with vengeance so I try and avoid that.

63 and have had it since small - its horrid - mine is the constant screech with the high pitch too- you can try to forget it but sometimes you can't and it is very upsetting. When I worked the lights in the office made it worse. When I retired the stress disappeared but it still peaks for no reason - its very sad.

I am sitting here in the cold with the whoosing sound in my head getting louder. If I turn the heating on and get warm it will abate somewhat. However, I am very worried about all the money whoosing out of my bank account. 😢

I've had mine 18 years, from a blunt force bmx accident when I was 19, I found when I was drinking alcohol it brought the sound more in focus, makes you panic feel lost in your own head. You can live with it, it's always there and annoying but life does move on.
