I'm here, for the similar reason you may have been. Certainly, the new Oscar award winning supporting actress is a major contributing factor. Although I do remember Jamie Lee Curtis well in "Trading Places." That particular movie remains one of my favorite movies. And "Pyscho" is one of Hitchcock best.

What a great candid conversation about the business that acting in Hollywood is.... you never ever hear actors talk about this these days... they do promotion for their films, go to talkshows to promote, make jokes, and that's it ... actors less and less show who they really are .... and Jamie she is such a wonderful personality... so open, so honest, so smart and so comfortable in her own skin, and she knows who she is ... and how she communicates with the audience, she makes everyone go back to earth, she's not playing the big movie star... probably because she always saw it as something practical, a practical art.... she is so refreshing ... and still is, from what I can see....

They're "actresses," but I realize you must be politically correct and use the male noun. Preferring the male noun, I think, is a tacit admission that male actors---on stage and in film---somehow offer more to audiences than women do. Otherwise, why the preference for the male noun? Either this is the reason or people today are becoming dumber and dumber.

They both starred with each other in two films: The Fog (1980), and Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998). In H20 Janet Leigh is the school’s secretary and has only a cameo appearance. What’s nice about it is: 1) Janet’s character’s name is, Norma Watson, a nod to an evil character in the original Stephen King/Brian De Palma film “Carrie” (1976), & 2) Janet’s (Norma Watson’s) car is the same exact car from the film “Pyscho” (1960) that starred Janet Leigh (char: Marion Crane). I also recommend you see the original The Fog (1980), the remake was trash. Well, let’s see if you can connect all the dots and make sense of it all.

. It's interesting to see how quickly this episode turned into what may as well have just been billed, "Donahue, with guest Jamie Lee Curtis.......along with an appearance by her mother, Janet Leigh". I'm not at ALL surprised that the YOUNG, HOT NEW, FRESH-FACED "talent" would be the one the show tended to gravitate towards, but after watching this I find myself wondering if Janet Leigh later felt at all slighted by how quickly she became a 'bit player' on this show, even though she was one of the two 'stars' on it, or if she didn't care at all, and was just proud to get to see how her daughter's career was beginning to take off right around this time, and didn't care at ALL that she wasn't the center of attention on this particular show...... 🤔 Thank you VERY much for posting this !! .

Just watching the late great Phil who passed yesterday interviewing jamie Leigh & her late mother back in 1985. Such a thoughtful host especially how he enquired then almost apologised if he pried to much into Janet Leigh's relationship with her own mother compared with that with her daughter Jamie Leigh. Two fun ladies. I'm' sure jamie Lee Curtis will reflect a little having heard the news on Phil's interviews with her over the years. I wonder whether she'll reflect back to this one & perhaps shed a tear watching her mother talk with younger her. That's how life goes, our parents sometime pass & we have to continue on. The familiar feelings of the relationship disappear & we're in a new emotional terrain as distance comes with the lack of physical presence interaction with us.

Beautiful women who respect each other! And lovely for them to have shared. Jamie Lee seems to have stayed true to the advice of staying true to WHO SHE IS. She writes children books and will perhaps a little to often appears on talk shows? However I rarely see talk shows so I'm not an expert or one who should even mention that. I haven't seen most of her movies as was never a fan of SCREAM's or even the kinds she often has appeared in. Love to have heard however she has continued to show up in Halloween or that genre just for kicks no doubt. What caught my eye was the respect between the mother daughters adult relationship. Really cool and precious at the same time. Jamie Lee's going to make a great MOM and from what I gather she has.

Jamie's comments about "Perfect" not doing well because it was a "tricky subject about journalists", were off the mark. "Perfect" bombed because it was a cheesy T-&-A flick ostensibly about "aerobics" which included lengthy scenes of her and Travolta thrusting and grinding in all sorts of suggestive poses, and there was no chemistry whatsoever between the two of them, and using journalism as a cover for T-&-A was seen as what it really was - just a cover.
