It's fun watching the 1993 clips to see just how nervous and inexperienced Conan was at the beginning. It just makes me appreciate more the craft side of this job, because you could be a charming and intelligent person, but still suck at this job simply because you're new. Fast forward to 2000s and later even the "bad" interviews ended up extremely entertaining because Conan had mastered the art by that point and can turn any situation into gold.

"The audience is quicker than I am" This old clips are fascinating, you can tell despite the awkwardness at times that guests like Conan and the conversations are natural. I haven't really seen many interviews from Conan's early years (I started watching in the early 2000s) and only heard this era via his frequent self-deprecation of that time. In hindsight isn't that bad, in fact for someone so new he's doing pretty well.

His show is less than a month old at this point, and he's obviously still learning the art of interviewing. I had no idea where he was going with that 1944 thing either, but the audience quickly and incorrectly assumed the worst because they don't really know him yet.

She was talking about the rivalries between Conan, Jay Leno and David Letterman, about who the networks picked to host which late night show and who got the best ratings, which at the time were a big deal, though Conan was not a big deal. She was suggesting that if Conan only had on guests who were his own age or younger, he would capture that audience, which the network would like, and as that audience got older he would naturally replace Leno and Letterman as the main guy. It’s a decent idea with pluses and minuses worth discussing but Conan didn’t want to discuss the politics in public so he deflected it.

For males I believe excess masturbation may hinder development as the pressure of hand damages penis so energy goes into repair of penis every day instead of masculine development (such as manly facial structure, beard etc )
