I moved away from home to Denver for a couple of years, thinking I was going to somehow get a great job and career, with no money and no plan. Well, I struggled with very little money while living there for a couple of years, didn't see much of the town because i couldn't afford to and worked at a minimum wage job. My one "splurge " while living there was to have cable tv. I would watch Conan every night. Johnny Carson had retired about 7 years before and Conan filled a big hole, in fact, I related to his comedy more (though I will always love Johnny, I grew up on him).

I recall very vividly going to see Chasing Amy with my mom when it came out. At the scene when J. Lauren Adams and Ben Affleck meet for the first time and my mom whispering to me "may be you need to go to these types of social events to meet a nice girl like her" then came the scene where she came out being lesbian. I told my mom, with my luck, I could totally see this happen to me, too. A year later, I met a nice girl online. We hit it off and things were going well until I found out she was bi-sexual. I just need Kevin Smith to direct my life like a movie.
