I'm amazed food critics still exist in newspapers. Surely the Guardian or anyone else can't be recouping the cost of her wage from sales due to her?

Jess is completely ignorant around meal kit deliveries. I've had the for a few years now on and off. Taught me how to cook and less wastage of food. The only drawback is the extra packaging due to smaller portions. Just because I get food delivered doesn't make me posh. It must be well rough up North if that's her perception. I've tried vegetables and spices I never would have. Every time I shop I buy utter crap, so I banned myself. I know there's bigger fish to fry, excuse the pun, but her moronic opinion really annoyed me.

Please, you protest too much. Yes, it's a waste, maybe not of ingredients but of money for sure. You will only get enough spice for that meal, and you can buy whole bottle (or whatever receptacle for spices is called)for fraction of the price. Or for example, you get 2 potatoes for specific recipe when you can get 2 lbs for that money. The fact you buy "utter crap" has nothing to do with it, if you couldn't afford it, you'd be much more sensible about what you buy. So yes, you are posh, and obnoxious to boot

Nah she got it exactly right, you're saying they're good because you lack any creativity or wherewithal to figure out how to cook something and not just default to buying processed crap whenever you enter the supermarket. Maybe they're good for arrested development barely functional adults like yourself, but to the rest of us they're a complete waste.

We live in a house which doesn’t know what decade we’re in and I haven’t a tv in my bit of it - but I earn my money working in people’s homes in an affluent part of england , which leaves me surprised that I’ve never heard of “ Meal Kits “ which I too thought was a cabbage , potatoes , pasta , cornflakes or some dead creature. So trendy climate caring souls actually order ingredients on line to be delivered ? God help Mother Earth or their children ! 🙄

BBC politically correct pish. This used to be a funny show. Merton calls this public television. It's a publicly forced subscription service that most people don't watch any more.
