Jamie saves his son's life. I love Jamie's instantaneous resolve. No fear. No hesistation. Just a bullet in the Earl's head. Are we to understand that the Dunsany grandparents know that Jamie is the father? We know Isobel does because Geneva told her.

@@elizabethwright5261 Jamie did them all a favor, including William, by making it impossible for the Earl to disown William or publicly shame him. And the Earl got what he deserved, threatening to kill a child. Lady Dunsany remarks much later to one of the women about the resemblance.

btw, it was very risky, he had to take it considering the baby was gonna get killed, but when he shoot the man, the man dropped the baby, it's a good thing the baby didn't get damaged.

I wish Jamie had told William after William discovers he's his father that Jamie killed the Earl on the first day of his life to save William. Jamie had a long list of things he'd done for William that should have been communicated to William to evoke gratitude that Jamie deserved.

Jamie’s relief that the baby is unharmed is quickly surpassed by the magnitude that he’s holding his own son, yet can’t ever be his father. When his mouth moves slightly right at the end I sense Jamie wants to cry out “this is my son”, but knows he must not. Sam is masterful at conveying all of this with the subtlest changes in his expression.

This is not how any of it happened in the book. This whole series. He wouldn’t and isn’t allowed to wander freely around like this. Yes he does save the baby but only her parents are there not her sister. He is in the servants kitchen when a maid tells the rest of the staff that Geneva had died after died after having the baby.

🦋🦋🦋 I suspect without Jamie!,…a trained soldier!,…the baby would have died!,…any other man!,…would not have the skill or training to save the baby!,…so Geneva actually picked the man that was going to save her babies life!,..not knowing that she and her baby were supposed to Die!☠️☠️

He just got married to young and beautiful woman on partnership deal between him and Geneva's father, Ellesmere hoping that Geneva could help him with that department, Geneva apparently didn't feel attracted to him, and doesn't want to seduce Ellesmere, and it doesn't help that when maids know about bedsheets and spread gossip to servants, and the gossip goes to Ellesmere.
