I really enjoyed the album, but the one thing I hated was the rollout. I feel like too many singles were released beforehand, which left little room for surprises when listening to the full album. I understand it was a commercial strategy to keep listeners engaged, but the equation between the number of singles released and the album’s release date was very poorly balanced.

For me, “Daffodils” is the highlight. Up there against any of Jamie’s best tunes. Oddly, as a massive Animal Collective stan, the least impactful element is Panda Bear’s guest verse. I’m both glad to know that Panda respects him enough to include the feature, and sad that he didn’t get the same creative back and forth treatment that all the other vocal elements benefit from. Several times on this album, it felt to me like the elements I was excited about and wanted to hear more of were just passing ideas, while the elements that I was less excited about would go on for quite a while. Overall, the album is a 6.5 to me, but occasionally peaks as high as a 9 during the best parts. It might score higher as I spend more time with it.

Real house heads know it’s a 9, also you’re just objectively wrong about “Falling Together” it’s literally the dance floor as the reality of now and hearing this live was genuinely religious and as a fan of hous tech house and techno music for a long time it actually brings me to tears knowing just how much love for house Jamie poured into this project, the only other house record that made me feel this was was 2012-2017 which is near perfect as well
