I am super impressed with the amount, and quality, of the work you put into those floors. When you first explained what type of wood you were going to be using I was a little sceptical, but the results have blown me away. Super unique and absolutely gorgeous.

I put in solid wood floors in our new home 30+ years ago. The job has changed very little. But ours were pre-finished so no sanding. You did a wonderful job. Congrats!

What a WONDERFUL IDEA for meals. She's not busy trying to do both ... and he's not buying take out all the time. What a healthy/time saving alternative. SMART. This reminds me of my husband and I doing all the demos and work we were capable of doing. We'd poop out about 10:00pm ... and nothing open ... minus fast food & gas station food. And, it was difficult to break around 6:00pm for an hour to go out to a restaurant ... being all sweaty. Those types of food services would have been great.

The floors look awesome! We are in the middle of a whole house diy (mostly) Reno too and as burned out as I sometimes feel, (8 months in) I am loving watching you guys tackle your house. We are nearing the end of the big stuff. We went 2.5 months without a kitchen so I feel ya!

A lot of work, Jamie and Sarah. One day, you will be snuggling on your sofa thinking of all the hard work, but so worth it. So much good advise and what worked and what you needed to revisit. Like you have said, don't be afraid to fail. I enjoy your videos with Ruby and Roxie.

As floor professional this is the only diy video I've seen that has phenomenal results. It's not easy work but it's very rewarding. I am surprised you guys found white oak so cheap, even for a character grade. I know a guy who mills prefinish flooring and he sells his character grade at 12 dollars a sqft.

Beautiful , it looks soooo good! We put hardwood floors throughout our previously carpeted and linolum from the 1950s home and I LOVE how it holds up. Yes it gets wear and tear from family life, but eventually we will sand it all down again and get a "new" floor again. Looks so good!

They turned out stunning! I love you kept with the natural beauty of the wood and didn’t stain! I hate staining natural wood, poly is probably the best finish for durability reasons but have you thought about an oil that’d be easier to refinish for later?! I ordered Osmo Polyx in Raw which has a very subtle tint of white (virtually invisible) that is supposed to keep the raw color of the wood but protects like an oil does and is easy to add on more later or sand damages out, etc. and it keeps the natural feel of the grain. I’m building a solid hickory vanity for my bathroom reno and love the color hickory has with the depth and striations so I tested out this Osmo Polyx in Raw and it’s stunning! You can’t see the depth of color and character until the oil is applied and it’s incredible and is now the only finish I want to use from now on however I can’t speak to durability yet as I haven’t applied it to the finished vanity which I’m still working on. What I do love is I’m supposed to be able to add more on down the road or easily sand and add without obvious lines for problem areas or water damage, etc. but I doubt it has the same kind of durability that a plastic coat of polyurethane provides. That’d definitely be a tough call poly or oil on your hardwood floors! Either way the depth of character in your flooring is a dream and worth the countless hrs of back pain
