I remember thinking when this song came out that it was going to be a huge hit. I still don't understand why it isn't a pop favorite and getting play in commercials and movies, etc. Then again, I hadn't seen this video; he looks like Quentin Tarantino's annoying little brother

My mom fell in love with Cullum's music and saw him in concert back in 2006. She passed away in 2009 and this song was among her favorites. I will never hear a song by Jamie Cullum without thinking of her. She loved the guy.

Jamie Callum "All At Sea" I'm all at sea Where no-one can bother me Forgot my roots If only for a day Just me and my thoughts sailing far away Like a warm drink it seeps into my soul Please just leave me right here on my own Later on you could spend some time with me If you want to All at sea I'm all at sea Where no-one can bother me I sleep by myself I drink on my own Don't speak to nobody I gave away my phone Like a warm drink it seeps into my soul Please just leave me right here on my own Later on you could spend some time with me If you want to All at sea Now I need you more than ever, I need you more than ever, now You don't need it every day But sometimes don't you just crave To disappear within your mind You never know what you might find So come and spend some time with me We will spend it all at sea Like a warm drink it seeps into my soul Please just leave me right here on my own Later on you could spend some time with me If you want to All at sea :D :D :D

I have always loved this song from the "Twentysomething" album and have been a fan of Jamie Cullum's musical artistry behind the keys and vocals. I remember getting a copy of this album and I played the crap out of it. It was and still is a great jam. It takes me back to when I was dating my musician boyfriend of 12 years back in 2005 (still together ever since). Great memories. Thanks for posting this.

The lyrics are so subtle, most people get it wrong saying it is about aloneness. It is not about others but about the roots of a split in us: he calls them roots vs spirit. Roots are the senses, the flesh, what ties me in finitude to time and space. Spirit is eternal. Self transcendence.

I remember him from seeing the promos on VH1 in high school when the channel still has redeeming value. They'd air vignettes on various new artists like The Fray or Corrine Bailey Rae. Not sure what's even it now. 99% reality shows no doubt.

This song is amazing. Takes me back 12 years back when i first started working at sea on ships. And now 12 years later my life is happening somewhere else. Jamie thanks for this song. I have listened it when you released it and i dreamt and imagined some better life elsewhere. But that is not the reality. Best part about imagining yourself at sea or somewhere else is that road of the unknown. Excitement of exploring new places, new people. I miss those days.
