FAQ ANSWERS: The beat markers are there for you to time the clips of your choice to whatever length you want. I only showed a short example but if you continue to add clips and do the same techniques I show you on every one of your clips, you will get a complete edit. As long as you trim the compound to the markers you set, the speed ramping will fit within that time frame when adjusting the spline in the fusion window. The speed ramp curve is up to your own creative decision, but the S curve and boomerang curve I show in the video are the two most common curves. ALSO: I made the beat markers ON the actual song resulting in not seeing it in the spline window. If you want to see the markers in the fusion page while adjusting the spline, then make the markers on the timeline level instead of on the song, then you'll be able to see them in fusion :)

I'm glad you didn't title this "EASY" NEW WAY.... Because this is complicated AF!! This is literally Level 9000 Advanced Davinci techniques so I hope your subscribers are experienced users or even experts at Davinci! For folks like me, I imagine I could spend some time with this and learn most of it but it's so complicated I would be beholden to coming back to this video if I ever wanted to repeat this process. Practice will obviously make us perfect but man, this ish is probably the most complicated Davinci tutorial I've ever seen! Lol But hey, thanks a ton for putting this out there. I know how much goes into these videos. I also like how you don't dink around explaining ish that people should already know. You're wham, bam, bam, wham and I appreciate that!

Am I missing something? I don’t see how you are timing the speed ramps, with the beats. I also have no idea what the ‘d’ then copy the blur, and ‘d’ again was all about. I found this all a little confusing sorry.
@marijansrsa2 күн бұрын
You have to put the markers on the timeline, not on the music track, then you can see the markers in fusion spline. Only thing that's getting tricky in the spline section, selecting the actual keyframe won't work all the time, you'll have to move the marker a bit. Hope that helps ✌

at about 3:08 he sets his clip to the beat and then trims it to 4 beats. the "d" is to disable the adjustment clip because its hard on your processor, so to disable and then reenable it. Hope that helps!
@gordonrobb2 күн бұрын
@@RobGibsonPFMYes. He sets it to 4 beats. But he puts 2/3 speed ramps in that 4 beat clip.
@JamieFenn2 күн бұрын
I say in the video that using motion blur sucks up a lot of your computers resources so I deactivate it until Im ready for the final render. And as far as timing the speed ramps, Im really confused what you don't understand as all you have to do is make sure you line up the clip and clip length to the beat markers, trim, and it matches up.

Great video, I had learned this way recently, I defiantly got some tips from you that I think I was doing wrong. Two things that I struggle with. When I use tracker, it is not always as smooth as I would like, I was surprised to see the amount of movement in your clip still work out for tracker. I think I learned something about how I was centering the clip vs you so I hope that helps. As for your Time Stretcher, how do you avoid it slowing down too much? I have an issue with this and then the footage looks a little stuttery like it was slowed too much. Also, how do you go faster? Sometimes I feel I need the speed part of the ramp to be faster. Does this have to do with the long amount of frames that you include in the ramp but not in the clip selection?
@JamieFennКүн бұрын
Theres a lot of factors when It comes to being smooth. If you watch the video I linked at the end of this one It should answer all of your questions.

I have used both techniques quite extensively and both have flaws. The classic way sucks for boomerangs or at least it is a bit clumsy and has bugs from time to time, also it is not as great to form a nice organic easing curve with the spline. The „new“ way via fusion sucks because you can‘t actually see the beat markers while working on the keyframes and splines, you can‘t set the exact percentage for slowmo / fps and also it is more tideous to initially set up for each clip.
@JamieFennКүн бұрын
You can actually, you just have to put the beat markers at the timeline level :)
@SCHAUDENLUCASКүн бұрын
@@JamieFennTrue, but then you can’t touch the audio anymore without „loosing“ the markers. It’s possible but if clients (as a freelancer, not a content creator) do the classic last minute switcheroo… let’s say it is not efficient.

Actually there's an easier way to do that. 1) First of all take and adjustment clip and make it a Reference composition. 2) In that clip use the Planar Tracker instead of the normal one so that you can zoom crop automatically. 3) Afterwards use a Transform node and use the Anim Curves modifier so that you dont have to do the curves manually. 4) Just select Custom, make keyframes for the zoom in only, Easing and select circ in and out, which is exactly what you did manually. 5) Then check the Mirror box and you have a perfectly mirrored animation that works in conjunction with the length of the clip automatically, however much you stretch it. If you copy that Adjustment clip and make changes at any point, then all of the clones will have the same changes applied via the Reference Clip.
