Hi Jamie. All the chords in the example are 7-chords. You just play the 1, 3 and 7th note of them. Which notes would you play for more complex chords, such as 9-chords or minor 7 (b5)?

Hi Will, thanks for the comment. I would change the bassline to fix the scale. So, if I was walking over a minor 7b5 chord, I would play a b2, instead of a natural 2 to make it fit into the scale. Hope that makes sense.
