This is a very good explanation. I have always liked Magic Sam's version from Ann Arbor and Buddy always played it at Antones in the 1980's. One of the best shows at Antones ever was Buddy and James Cotton

It was one of the best weekend shows I can recall at Antones. Buddy kinda to the center stage on Friday and Cotton took over on Saturday. Complete with Derek,George Rains,Denny Freeman and Mel Brown

No worries... I'd say the diads come from the pentatonic more than the blues scale because none of the shapes have a b5 in them.
