Hey Jamie, I’m a carpenter in NC with a decent-sized channel of my own. I had this exact same surgery in December, arthroscopic chondroplasty right knee, after years of construction work. I’m back up and running on it now. Hang in there! I love the channel-can’t wait to see you surfing again soon 🙂

If you don’t mind, how much was your surgery and the MRI if you got one? My knees are shot, the orthopedist diagnosed me with patellofemoral pain syndrome and nothing was noticeable on the x-rays. It’s hindering my daily lifestyle. I can’t be as active, SUX

@@kahikohammah you definitely want insurance I spent like $2k in co-pay which was my max out of pocket my insurance covered about $15k more for the surgery and I don’t even remember the MRI cost and preliminary doc appts to get to the point of my orthopedist approving surgery.

This legit made the Ole eyes well up with water.... bring back rough memories of over a decade of surgeries on my debilitated severely cartilage damaged ankle joint til a total right ankle fusion was imminent. Like myself and others who have been through such, you definitely will heal and triumphantly reign supreme again in the waters...which will in itself skyrocket your recovery time. I've had 17 surgeries in my life and had to learn to walk again 3 times. Getting back to surfing has been a huge challenge. If I can do it you can easily :-) Now both of my shoulders are shot. Surgery is no big deal. Especially knee surgery. One of my surgeries was 9.5 hours.

Dude, kudos for being so open with your experience and the process. You and I are brothers in arthroscopy! DO THE PHYSIOTHERAPY! WORK HARD! Don't rush back until the docs say so! I had a similar procedure when I was about 40 - I'm 56 and still doing triathlons, climbing, snowboarding, playing hockey, and surfing the smaller-than-Tina-sized waves once a year or so. It's sore all the time, but who cares! Stay psyched!

after having 6 knee scopes(2 were one ACL replaced then replaced again) i can tell you the best thing is to take your time and then make sure you keep all the muscles around the knee strong consistently after the initial rehab. sending lots of love and strength!!

Praying for a speedy recovery 🙏, I have torn my ACL playing basketball. I have always wanted to surf and I knew surfing would be hard due to my new normal from knee surgery, and a high chance of tearing my ACL again. I was scared to even try surfing, but your videos gave me that confidence to try surfing. I learned to recover mentally and physically, trust the process and things will get better. Hey Jamie, I had knee surgery about a year ago and what helped me recover the most was getting in the water to swim and even just walk around. It helps so much with staying in shape and getting that range of motion back. I would definitely recommend it. Get well soon, can’t wait to see the vids of you getting back but don’t rush it

We're praying for you to pull through this like a pipeline barrel, don't worry your healthy so you will definitely recover, just keep a positive attitude and you'll be back next year ! I've had surgery on both knees, the surgeon's are on it and the technology makes it possible to recover faster than ever, and come back even stronger, it took me about 1 year to recover, but 2 years to regain my original strength which ended being stronger after the surgery, the more time that goes by the stronger you should get. 🙏

stay strong Jamie! I've had to deal with 3 shoulder surgeries but always kept in mind that as long as I did my PT and got stronger, I can surf again. The Ocean will always be there for you. It's a long road ahead but you will get there!!

I actually went online yesterday looking to see what the outcome was. Hard to keep track of the days. I wish you all the blessings and luck in your recovery. For me PT was a blessing to work out and do something positive during rehab. Take long walks with Tina. In the end of the video, it show just how much pressure and extreme angel we put on our rear leg and knee. Maybe I shouldn't say we, but YOU!!!

Best wishes for a speedy recovery, Jamie! I've had both my knees done and the rehab/recovery is so important to getting back up to speed! I'm not going to lie to you, It's going to hurt, but you just have to work through the pain, as best you can! You're young, fit and I think you're very determined to get back into the water, as soon as possible! Don't overdo the rehab and get plenty of rest as well. Good luck and hang in there! Best wishes for a fast recovery. I was SUP surfing with a brace 4 months after my ACL/meniscus surgery and did a ton of flatwater SUP during recovery to build strength. It took longer before I could prone surf as popping up is the hard part after surgery but you're luckily it was the right knee as it should be easier for you. This would be a great time to give Jackson more surf lessons - put yourself behind the camera with commentary, I loved the camera man competition.

Marijuana has many amazing medicinal properties both physically and mentally. Educate kids on what using can do, the good and the bad, and let them come to their own conclusions on it.
