Been watching a long time and have some feedback on your ad at the end. Well played sir. I think the quality is top-notch. A segment showing families having lifelong remembered experiences together with killer cinematography and sincere interviews is core and based as it gets. Rarely do I watch an ad for anything and feel better after watching it... I have smile on my face and felt great, thanks for that.... Cheers dude!

@@motofunk1 I'm well aware of what is going on there, and the arguments against are no more logical than anywhere else. Google for the article "Surfers Creating Standing Waves at Aliso Creek Have Ignited a Heated Standoff in Laguna Beach". Among other things it points out that the city itself breached the berm there as recently as November 2023, and then some ranger got all pissy when someone else started digging a channel a month later. The fact remains, once water starts to overtop the sand berm it will create a channel that will quickly get deeper and faster until it turns into a raging torrent with the *exact* same result for the beach and the lagoon behind it. Whether people start that channel, or they just wait until some random time it happens itself the result will be the same.
@trendingtigers

The synchronization when nature is primed to breach is way more in tune with its ecosystem compared to when a KZbinr wants content. Natures cycles are precise. Its not just water levels ,its all life interconnected with this natural system.
@daemn42
@daemn42 4 ай бұрын
@ngtigers Nonsense. Nature just happens whenever it happens. There's no synchronization. If it's been raining upstream it'll overtop the berm within a day. They don't dig out the berm unless it's already imminent.

Yo Jamie love the river surf. Hoping you can answer my questions. 1. How long does it take to get the beach back to holding back the river again? (Timelapse would be sick to see the days to follow.) 2. How long can you guys actually surf on the river swell? Looks like about 30min but maybe its longer?

I believe that this is a river wave. For those who are unaware (I had to look it up myself) a river wave is a natural phenomenon where the ocean builds up enough pressure that it connects with nearby rivers and streams. This is very rare however, and is actually illegal if you’re digging it out yourself because it does not correlate with the way that the aquatic ecosystem functions. The sole purpose for river waves is deposit silt, and minerals which creates sand banks. Those who are saying, “they are just speeding up the process” are wrong. Sandbanks take between 100-1000 years to form naturally. This needs to end, by doing this you are destroying the natural flow of the water. This disrupts the habitat of aquatic animals and plants that are vulnerable to extreme, unnatural changes between quick unadaptable periods of time. If created in areas where species are already endangered, such as the Leatherback sea turtle you are putting their extinction at risk. These turtles lay their eggs on the beaches, raising the possibility of a river wave being dug where eggs are buried. While constructing these river waves for your mere enjoyment you’re putting the lives of critically endangered species at jeopardy. Furthermore, not only are you damaging the ecosystem, but you are putting a threat on the lives of others, and yourself. Rivers are much more powerful than one may expect. Without the proper equipment, training and appropriate location surfing in man made river waves such as these can result in serious injury or death. Next time that you consider creating another river wave, know that the ecosystem around you is suffering enough. We don’t need anymore added impact. Thank you.
@jb-es5zj

im no scientist or marine biologist but the "river wave" you refer to is a wave that travells upstream much like a tidal bore . this is more similar to a dam breaching even though someone has done it.i feel you may be refering to what happens in a delta area where large rivers meet the ocean. if anything they diverted the flow away from the rocks therefore preserving the ecosystems that are located around this area this river seems to open and close quite regulary and any animals or plants nearby woulld be quite tollarent of this or even rely on it so if they dont open the river houses upstream would flood and lives could be lost . better to release the water and prevent this and the issue of sewage and all the pollution issues assosiated with urban flood water as for the sand if you went back in a week or so you probably wouldnt even be able to tell anythig has happend and if the turtles are dumb enough to lay there eggs in front of a rivermouth than that just sems like natural selection to me who wants a bunch of dumbass turlles flip flappin around the ocean in this situation its entre at your own risk jamie is probably one of the best watermen on the planet and mor than capable in those conditions although those logs looked pretty scary next time you comment you should make sure your opening statement is accurate

This spot naturally breaks through regularly and would do so even if they didn't dig it out. If you watched the whole video you would have seen that it was going over in spots other than where they were digging. They sped up the process by minutes. I've been surfing rivers in kayaks for more than 20 years, guessing you have never spent much time on a river.

These rivers go up n down all the time if any thing they actualy preserved an ecostystem by diverting it away from the rocks at the end of the beach that many marine plants and animals rely on for life n protection i reckon theres bigger problems than tthese guys having fun n if turtles are gunna lay there eggs in front of a river mouth than thats just natural selection in process we dont want a bunch of dumb ass turtles flip flappin aroun everywhere or where you taking the piss
