Hiya. Yes it’s an emperor snakehead, a Channa maruloides. Biggest one I’ve seen, I’ve had him 3 years or so was was around 18” when I got it. He’s pushing 30” now

This video made me completely reevaluate snakeheads, in the US they're mostly seen as a pest due to northern snakehead invasive wild propagation, but wow yours is a beautiful fish.

Hmmm can’t remember, but certainly the bead filter polishes what does get through. It’s called a Cetus sieve if you want to look into it
