Good to see you back in the swamp, thanks for the update! That CCI Glass looks like a bad mama jama, I think the Advance could benefit from another wash pass or possibly a clay towel? C6 Hydro Lite (the correct location in the middle) looking on point too, are you going to wash your mom's car again sometime soon? I had a suspicion that Griot's square would still be there, amazing stuff! It's what I tell all my "normie" friends to pick up from the auto parts store when they ask me what to use on their car without going down the detailing rabbit hole.

@ddybrawndo2 ай бұрын
Great video! I always love watching the satisfaction of beads coming back to life. I do have a question about your acid wash. I just ordered some last week to try out with the High PH wash. Can i foam the hard wash, then foam the acid wash, and rinse? Or hard wash, rinse, acid wash, rinse? Of course this is with a contact wash after. Im just trying to figure out the capability of the products. Any feedback is most definitely appreciated. Appreciate you, and what you and Eddie do for the detailing community! Now get some rest 👌

Hey Jamie, question on KCX soaps. What’s the difference between AS & GSF. I’d like to use auto shampoo as my was soap every wash because it’s cheaper than GSF. Would it be ok for that or is it to harsh for a coating

"full neglect", for a coating, would be frequent washes. I think your logic is highly flawed. The mechanical abrasion of washing would wear off the coatings. I was of course speaking tongue-in-cheek when I said that "full neglect" would be washing - I'm saying that simply allowing the car to get dirty over a long period isn't a good test for a coating's longevity.
@sirliftsalot11542 ай бұрын
All of the oil, trans fluids, coolant that leaks out of peoples cars ends up on your paint as traffic film if you drive in the rain. Traffic film will wear out the coating much faster than a basic car wash. That's what clogs the coatings up when you don't wash regularly.
@JamieTheCleaner2 ай бұрын
@@gregsullivan7408 no coatings are designed and tested to be washed every two weeks to keep them contamination free, proper wash techniques and high quality soap will keep abrasion to a minimum over the coatings lifespan
@gregsullivan74082 ай бұрын
@@JamieTheCleaner we apply the coating to make it easy to keep the car clean. How do we clean the car? By washing it. It's the WASHING that wears the coating down mostly, by mechanical abrasion
@JamieTheCleaner2 ай бұрын
@@gregsullivan7408 your not wrong as a bad wash can kill a coating pretty quickly but a correct wash procedure every two weeks will definitely keep a ceramic coating in great condition for the suggested life span. Contamination is the much bigger enemy of the wash procedure is done correctly 👍
@gregsullivan74082 ай бұрын
@@JamieTheCleanerI don't think you understand my point fully. The main thing that wears the coating off, as I understand it, is the mechanical abrasion of washing, even with good technique. This is why Dmitrys Garage tests to see how many washes a coating can withstand. (I think he is the most scientific detailing channel). Given this, I don't think your test, in which you let the car get dirty over a long period, is a sensible way to test a coating's longevity.
