I agree, somewhat it's because of beeing in the shadow of Jay and the bass guitar (which has been always superb whoever was in the band atm). However, if you ever get a chance to listen to any INSTRUMENTAL version of Jamiroquai's songs, just do it. Suddenly, he shines soooo much, like this guy absolutely knew how to camouflage funk/jazz harmony into mainstream/pop-understandable progressions. Jamiroquai, the band, should be listed next to artist like Hendrix and Co. They are legends if you ask me. They not just revived Acid Jazz, they ARE acid Jazz. There is no other band even remotely close to the level of Jamiro in that genre. And just a few Musician on this earth in general on the Level of Jamiro. Apart from that, everytime i see jay kay beeing interviewed or talking, he feels so down to earth. Maybe thats why they didnt reached that led-zeppelin like legend status. Jay kay could be your neighboor

Most importantly, as a musician is this sort of thing. I'm 46 and these guys were a few years older, they released this album when there was a sort of jazz funk revival. I learned modern harmony when I was at 6th form, got a rhodes stage 73, then 98, got a D6 clavinet and a hammond out of a crematorium and then a suitcase piano. These guys were important. Take a look at what Tom O Grady is up to on his suitcase 88. We all grew out of the same soil. Toby had an interesting take on harmony. It is sort of gospelly

Love this man! Love the band! He is Jamiroquai, THEY are Jamiroquai! One can’t exist without the other. Their music is the soundtrack of my life and I can’t imagine having lived without it! Can’t wait for more to come and to see them in their next live show!💖🎶💃🏽
