I said it eleven years ago, and I'll say it again today: Though this video seems like a happy colorful cartoony thing at first, it actually looks at a LOT of issues we have in this world today. People like Jamiroquai aren't just expressive, they're damn smart too-- I respect them greatly for this fantastic blend. People who see this video and like it should take the time to look at it very, very carefully, and start applying the stuff these artists have been saying so long! In this modern day and age, we really need to start listening to them more.

Reference: La Linea ("The Line") is an Italian animated series created by the Italian cartoonist Osvaldo Cavandoli. The series consists of 90 episodes, which were originally broadcast on the Italian channel RAI between 1971 and 1986. The background tune for the series was created by Franco Godi.

Why can't we be (together)? Could you love me, don't hate me I don't see (why can't we live together) Maybe we could get it on (maybe we could get it on) Should be our destiny If you want to rise up We can make this hate stop Now don't you want to rise up We've been giving hate a chance (We've got all this love to give, you know) And the love will be running out for us Can you feel the dreams of life We're hoping we can still survive As the wind carries every dove away So why do we see (these colors) It's only skin deep, don't mean a thing So clear (underneath this we're all brothers ) Can't you see it's killing us, (can't you see it's killing us) Can't you see it's killing me Trigger happy fantasy So stand up and be, (so strong now ) We can make this hate stop Don't you want to rise up We've been giving hate a chance (We've got all this love to give, you know) And the love will be running out for us Can you feel the dreams of life We're hoping we can still survive As the wind carries every dove away (The wind), carries every dove away (The wind), carries every dove away Every dove away Now you've been taking our dignity for too long I want to save this sanctity that we hold And who's right and who's wrong We're not so different anyway Worlds are in this song Can't we stop fighting We've been giving hate a chance (We've got all this love to give, you know) And the love will be running out for us Can you feel the veins of life We're hoping we can still survive As the wind carries every dove away Don't give this hate a chance, We've got all this love to give you know That this dreams alive, will still survive, Until no more people have to cry

What a strong and profound message. Executed exceptionally and utterly the message is so real. Thank you Jamiroquai, you are all such a huge influence in my life and I credit a lot of my character to your beautiful tunes embedded in these powerful songs. Great lyrics and music is failing to prevail in popular music these days. Not to crap on other people's taste, it's just sweet to have something stimulating to listen to. Keeps my head in check sometimes in this world that's so overbearing at times. What you listen to really does influence you, so thank you for your great contribution to the world with your mesmerising art! Much love and happiness to you all and everyone who sees this :)

Underrated comment. Even today this song needs more repercussion, this funky beat to put some smiles on everyone and remind that were all equal no matter the place we were born, we still fight for racism and many other problems between us, but i hope one day we can all live together without any political, social fight. I dont give any type of hate any type of chance, and so we will need to do every single one of us. Hope you Miss Understood and the rest of this comment section are ok today, taking care of yourselves and grooving to this funky funky beat (we need more soul and funk, it's so catchy and uplifting...)
