This was my favorite licensed song from Dance Dance Revolution for such a long time. Over the years, I would hear it pop up here and there like in a commercial, a movie, a throwback pop radio channel, etc. Now Nicki Minaj very recently (~New Year 2024) used a beat that heavily samples it, and it keeps the irresistible urge to dance while modernizing it. My parents were in the midst of a messy divorce around the time this music video was released. I remember the first time I ever heard it I was unpacking my stuff in my new room at the duplex I was moving into with my dad after getting uprooted from my school and all my friends. In a moment of sadness and darkness this song brought light and joy.
