Yes, I'm a singer and know how hard it is to pull this off live. To the comment below he is not using auto-tune. You can clearly hear when someone is using auto tune. I hate how folks automatically assume its auto tone if a singer is amazing live. He's just that good! You go Jay Kay
@dmnbkr1256
@dmnbkr1256 2 жыл бұрын
autotune can be used very subtle, too. there are ways to autotune it to a certain level and still let it sound like it´s unprocessed. besides of that there is definetly a certain processing like reverb and chorus-effect or something to make the voice richer. no shame, bc its the style of the music.

@@michaelshepherd885 For big live shows they often have some type of live pitch correction to the live vocals, if that's what you're asking. It's been the norm in the industry for the last few years. Pitch correction is _not_ autotune... however, when most people say "autotune," they _mean_ pitch correction. With a live band, if you're a little off-pitch here and there, that's just being 'in the groove.' But if you're singing over a suite of digital instruments, any little mistake or deviation will stick out big time. Singers have to perform to a higher standard, if they're singing over synth. The real-time pitch correction is just helping to put on a good show. Jamiroquai rules, he puts on a great show.

What a musical genius Jay is. He really feels music and I admire him so much. I am in his age and I am overwhelmed by his energy level on stage. His positivity make me happy it's that simple. However, all other musicians on stage are great artists, too, and it's a pleasure to listen to them. My favorite track here is "Use the force".

His sound is eclectic. I can hear the Brazilian influence in his music. Plus I can see it in the percussion instruments of the band. Also, there's some funk/fusion happening too.

I just discovered these guys about 2 months ago, through the magic of KZbin. I don`t know how I missed them all these years, I`m sad that I missed groovin` to their music for the last almost 30 years, I`m making up for that now, I can`t stop listening to them. I would love to see them live!

When I first heard virtual insanity the lyrics caught my attention more so than the music. Then someone gave me a burned cd of that album.(this was like in 98 when a burned cd was still not very common)And after hearing cosmic girl, use the force, traveling without moving and I was hooked ! But Gained 100x more respect for them after seeing a concert of them on tv and was blown away to find out that all of those funky 70s disco guitar, drums and bass lines were all actual people and not synthesizers!! And this concert was awesome!! They are only one of a few bands that ive seen that sound as good and on point live as they do in a studio!!

By the way 17 days ago from now I was the proud winner of the golden Christmas tree ball which was signed by Jay Kay after this concert - (that was an action powered by SWR 1, our local radio station in Stuttgart) - J. K. was totally sweating and finished after this concert in that hot July evening and was asked to sign a Christmas ball...:-)) (you can see the ball on my facebook account as a proof :-)
