I agree 100% :). They simply don't get the respect or the airtime they deserve. Most underrated band of all time for sure!

They are just not from this planet : Do you know a band, where the musicians are all talented, and where the frontman is able to sing as well as in the album version but with no playback and with great dance abilities ? even Mickael Jackson cannot do this. That's why Jamiroquai is the most underrated band ever.

wow! i just saw this band on Jools on tv and had to check them out. since Virtual Insanity was on tv...back in the late 90s, i had no idea what happened to this band. had no idea they were THIS good. wow. i love how musically they're willing to experiment with chromatic notes and whatnot. not playing it safe....which is good. too much of that today. and his singing...jesus. i haven't heard melodies that delicious since Stevie Wonder. glad to now be aware of this excellent band....again.

I still love this incredible performance of 2 of the best songs ever written. Can't get enough of the funky vibes! lol. Thanks to everyone who has viewed, rated and left a comment on this video! 13,500 views so far and some great comments below. Really, thank you all! :)

I prefer Jay Kay's voice to Michael's full stop though. Jay Kay can still hit most of the high notes anyway, I don't think he has a throat problem I think he's just getting older, therefore his voice is just naturally deteriorating slightly. His voice these days is still impressive to me. Sometimes it gets a little weaker towards the end of a big tour but that's understandable. Regardless though as Michael and Jay are completely different people. :)

Jay Kay must have had what doctors call MTD - Muscle Tension Disphonia. An excess of contraction on muscles in the larynx which causes quick voice fatigue, hoarseness for months/years without an obvious reason. It’s usually misdiagnosed with acid reflux, which leads people to follow wrong treatment. It’s caused by stress, anxiety and other psychological issues... I suppose that’s what he had as his voice sounded “dry” and “inelastic” for over 10 years. If you hear his voice nowadays it’s sounds totally healthy even though he’s older, may sound even better than back in 2003

Do you know band like Pleasure ? Idris Muhammad ? I love the whole funk, the whole groove. So yeah maybe these bands you quoted are better in some points, but a fact, is a fact...Jak Kay is an incredible performer, and Jamiroquai one of the most versatile band ever...they can play everything, every style of music. And this is not the best video to prove the performance of the whole band, check Travelling without moving argentina 97, or the 20-minute-version of Love foolosophy from Lucca cheers

Michael Jackson did it until he was 30, then his live voice started deteriorating. Just like Jay's did. It had already deteriorated by this point....

really guys? both of them are great artists. simple as that. jay kay had a huge drug problem and naturally that and age does something to your voice but he came back, can fly a frigging helicopter as well as being a sorted person in general. let's enjoy and not bicker. no point.

Live yes, in the studio....not at all.

Difference is, jay kays voice is still good enough to sing as good as this, where as michael jacksons was too shit full stop

Y they stick Nick the BASSISTS in the back? Stick the guitar player he just keeps playing same ole rhythm over and over again. Nick is almost in the crowd.
@number1fairfield12 жыл бұрын
of course its not as good, what im saying is that jay@s "deteriorated voice" sounds better than michael jacksons.
@1991ltd12 жыл бұрын
Well you're just being bias. MJ's voice was still great at 50 in the studio, it hadn't even deteriorated....just aged. Live is a different matter as he was unable to sing and dance at the same time anymore. Jay Kay? His voice actually did deteriorate over time and it has nothing to do with dancing live because it's almost as bad in the studio as it is live. He can hit none of the high notes anymore.
@number1fairfield12 жыл бұрын
Michael jackson NEVER sang live.
@number1fairfield12 жыл бұрын
not imo
@1991ltd12 жыл бұрын
Hmm? Jay Kay's voice has deteriorated massively....he can't hit any high notes anymore. Live or in the studio. Michael's voice was only bad live and it's because he was dancing none stop for 2 hours while trying to sing. In the studio, he was still hitting all his high notes at 40+. Michael's problem was dancing while singing, Jay Kay's problem was an actual throat problem. I'm a big Jamiroquai fan but I'm not going to ignore the fact that Jay Kay's voice has deteriorated as it has.
