I've found one of these in good shape for fifty dollars I was thinking of buying with the intention of upgrading the rims and braking to hydraulic disc. Seems like a decent platform.

Hi Ray thanks for viewing! What a great bike I also have the Jamis Citizen 1 really like how they just fit me so well and very smooth. Definitely worth the upgrades you got a great deal on to me a very high-end bicycle!

I bought one, new, a year ago. What type of bike is it? Road or hybrid? It’s too heavy. I love everything about it except the weight! Which is only 32 lbs, so I’m thinking maybe the weight is just distributed in a really awkward way? I live in an apartment so I stow it in the basement-carrying it up and down only 8 steps is very difficult. I had to rig a belt to the frame as a lifting handle. I’d def ride more if it was easier to carry. I thought it was normal until I picked up my son’s new full size adult bike. It’s so light I could lift it over my head if I wanted to. Otherwise a great bike. I guess I need to build upper body and core strength! 💪🏻

I don't think Jamis bicycles have their own smell. Bikes in general doesn't have a smell.
